The Bellwether Hotel

I do not recommend this hotel. While it may have a charming appearance, the customer service is completely inadequate. I booked two rooms for a work trip using my credit card, but when I arrived, I was denied access. When I called for assistance, I was told that the reservations were under my colleague’s name, despite the fact that I had made the booking. I stood outside on the street in the cold for 25 minutes while the representative attempted to resolve the issue. Eventually, he sent me a confirmation—but it was for my colleague’s room, not mine. When I asked him to escalate the issue, he agreed and then abruptly hung up. I called back and spoke to a woman who said she needed to contact her manager. After another 20 minutes, she was still unable to help. It wasn’t until I finally got my colleague on the phone that I was able to gain access to my room. I later discovered that she had received a text with access details for this keyless hotel, but I had not. The problems didn’t end there. After my colleague checked out a day earlier than me, I lost access to my room, despite her repeatedly informing the hotel via text that I was staying another night. This level of service is completely unacceptable. I have stayed at other keyless hotels where, if an issue arises, there is an emergency contact number staffed by someone who can actually assist. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

Location is very good. Bardstown Rd is a great area in Louisville. The bedrooms feature a comfortable bed, coffee and cookies.

Bedrooms feel quite dark and cold, and could hear voices coming from another room. The hotel sells "invisible staff + self-check in", but what we found is no staff at all after 5pm (visible or invisible), which made impossible to fulfill a simple request about the bathtub not working properly. You can communicate with "them" via phone, but if you need anything, you are out of luck. It feels like one of those hotels somebody who does not want to be seen would pick. Disappointing for this price range.

It’s a great location, and the property is great in an old school.

It’s expensive. And no staff on site. We had an issue with a door code to get into the hotel. Had to wait outside in freezing cold for over an hour before staff answered the emergency line.

Beautifully redone historic building. Enjoyed design features and Christmas decor! Great walkable neighborhood.

Nothing, invisible check-in , our code would not work after we left room, sit in lobby for a hour calling to get help 3 times at that. Very disappointed.

No staff

The location is great! Great shops and restaurants and bars all around

No parking and no on site staff if there are any issues. I also didn’t like all the expired candy and snacks they they tried to sell to us in the room.

Fantastic location. Walkable to many of the great restaurants and bars in the Highlands area. Contactless check in worked well for us and we were able to park on the street directly next to the property.

The room was not very well maintained. The remote control for one of the TVs was missing. A picture was missing from the wall with just a picture hook. There’s no closet but no hooks anywhere to hang clothes, and no towel rods or hooks in the bathroom, so we just had to pile damp towels on top of the sink and keep our clothes in our suitcases.
