The location and the cleanliness

The water for the shower was warm when I got in and within one minute it was ice cold and I had to take a cold shower.

The property was close to the stores and food places of Gatlinburg. After complaints of the room, staff was amenable and understanding— refunded us a portion of the stay.

The room was unkept and dirty— carpets had stains and the bedsheet had a blood stain. The bathroom’s fan wasn’t working properly, and the “marble”countertop as shown in the photos is simply plastic with a marble design printed on. Doesn’t seem to be enough staff members to keep the property clean/organized.

The location was decent; it was a good walk to get to the main part of the strip. Beds were soft.

The gentleman in the office was very nice and did try to help when we discovered the TV/cable didn’t work. I also explained that the mysterious smell he noticed wasn’t us—it was coming from the bathroom, where there was clearly a leak somewhere. I could hear it but never saw it, like a haunted plumbing situation. We sprayed perfume just to survive and stayed four nights with no TV for entertainment. Oddly enough, the biggest concern seemed to be making sure we weren’t smoking in the room. At that point, I almost wished we were—might’ve improved the experience. The sheets and blankets were stained, there was no refrigerator, and getting towels or toilet paper required multiple requests. The one lady working would often say, “I’m done cleaning for today, maybe tomorrow,” then sit in the office until 11 or 12 at night…so tomorrow never really came. None of the drink machines worked unless you walked next door to another motel, and the ice machine was also on permanent vacation. I understand this place is a work in progress, but with a lot more work, it could be a decent stay—eventually.

Hmm let me see? The roaches, nah!! Oh maybe the filth all over the sidewalks? Nope definitely not. Oh wait!! Was it the rude man who refused to even help me as well as 2 other couples. No, wasn't that either. So I guess that leaves, well NOTHING to like.

My husband and I booked here for our 23rd Anniversary. We arrived to find a disgustingly nasty facility and upon asking to check the room before we checked in, we were told to do so we would have to pay $25 in cash. They man wouldn't even come to the lobby to speak with us or the other 2 couples that were there. He then disappeared and we couldn't even speak with him to cancel and ask for a refund. We ended up canceling our reservation through booking.com and requested a refund due to the facility not being a suitable place to stay. We were refunded $4.00. What a joke!! I understand cancelation policies, however when there are legitimate reasons, I feel exceptions should be made. We had to scramble to find another place. (Which was great facility) however, that added unexpected expenses kinda put a damper on our celebration. Will not be using booking.com in the future and will encourage anyone I know to find any alternate site.
