Bells Marina & Resort

The wife and I were cooking seafood outside on the patio when a rain storm blew in, horrible downpour. We tried several times to get in our room, the key would not work , the FOB would not work. We were stuck in the rain for a total of 30 minutes, all food/supplies ruined. When I went and finally found the owner, he basically called me a liar and tried to make it my fault, tried to be-little me in front of other customers. He refused to comp me for the room or all the seafood/supplies. I'm pretty sure he has "little man" complex. And it wasn't only us, there was 3 other families. This place is like a pig with lipstick, when you walk on the floors it sounds like you're going to fall in, broken concrete strairs, room locks fall to work, paper thin walls. Hopefully your're driving a truck, the place is one big pothole. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, FIND ANOTHER PLACE.

Room was very nice. However we went to fish. No place to dock the boat and there is no good parking for a boat and trailer. Not a good set up. 10 miles to any number of restaurants. No restaurant at the “resort”.

One night stay, peaceful property, dog friendly

First time to visit Bell's. They are very friendly, accommodating and have everything in the store that you may need. Looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend, great experience! I personally went for a day trip but like to return for a weekend experience.

Ok so it’s not fancy. But I rated it a 3 because it’s an inexpensive place to stay compared to Charleston hotels. The room was quite clean. Beds were comfortable. It shares the location with tent and RV camping and a marina. My biggest complaint was the noise, especially from the people in the unit above ours. They walked around their room at all hours and were very heavy footed, making it impossible for me to sleep. Also, the old motel style HVAC unit was quite noisy. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere, without much nearby so I thought it would be quiet. Not! But it saved us quite a lot of money.

This was time for family and relaxation. The facilities are great and this was the perfect time for our visit.

We were very disappointed with our stay. The business does not meet the expectation set by the internet. The place is aged and much smaller than it appears in the advertising. We stayed in a double bed room but we did not get any sleep. The walls are not insulated and we could hear everything in the rooms around us. The people above us moved around all night and it sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling. The problem with the thin walls is so bad there were complimentary ear plugs in the room. The management offered to comp us a room, but we don't have any plans to ever visit this place again. When I told them that we had no intention of ever staying again, they offered to refund us 1/2 of the rental fee, but I don't feel right about taking a refund, so we are not going to accept one. I really appreciate the manager offering, but we stayed and we paid. It isn't fair to expect money from them for something they cant control. I was torn about leaving a review, because I realize the management is trying to do the best they can with what they have to work with, however I do feel people deserve to know this place is not as nice as it seems online. The rooms are clean but they are aged and you can hear everything from the surrounding rooms. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends or family.

Our room was very clean. The owner introduced himself and was very helpful. The lake was beautiful. Only complaint....we were on the bottom floor and the person above us....we could hear his every footstep....

The hotel was very clean and their housekeeping services are excellent. The walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbors other than that. I have no complaints.

I love that the room is so close to the water, a store on property so it's convenient. We stayed here before abs lived it. Brought the kids this time so i wish we would have had the kitchen but ill choose the room next time.. love my stay for sure
