Bells Marina & Resort

For a low end restaurant on premise, the food was quite good. The fried Catfish was perfect.

We had the most relaxing trip at Bells Marina & Resort. Our room was clean, and we loved that the decor wasn’t typical generic hotel prints. Beware of the beds! They are so comfortable they practically suck you in. Everything was convenient to our room. The lake was right outside our door, which couldn’t have pleased us more. The store, diner, and rental boats were right there. We had planned some hiking, and we discussed renting an electric boat. In the end, we opted to sit by the lake and have cookouts with all the wonderful people we met. The owner Jud was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is older, and you can hear the people above you. That wasn’t a problem for us, as we were hardly in our room, and the beds are too comfy to stay awake in. We can’t wait to get back to Bells Marina! Maybe next time we’ll get to that hiking, or maybe not.

The stay was amazing as always. The owners and staff are exceptional. They make you feel at home from the moment you check in. They are very responsive and care about all of the guests. The facility is quiet and comfortable. Nature and peacefulness surround you at Bells Marina. There is no place like it around.

I’m not sure where to start. I thought I was getting a cabin but I was put in a hotel. The bathrooms are gross. There was black mold. The tub was stained black, the shower curtain had brown slime on it. The boxspring was old and stained yellow. The dust ruffle was so dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been washed ever. The walls between the rooms are so thin they leave earplugs in the room. I could hear my neighbor cough, talk, TV and shower. If you like camping be my guest. Only one washing machine and dryer was working the other set was broken. The dryer has issues with inserting the coins and it gets stuck. In all fairness - They did put new floors in the rooms. Not sure if my mattress was old or not because it was covered and I’m not sure about the bedding. This was not what I was expecting. I guess you can call this place camping indoors. There are lots of mobile homes on the property and the people were friendly. It’s a definitely a different type of place. I saw a lot of out-of-state workers staying here, but everybody needs a place to rest. The bathrooms need the most work. Any store is 30 minutes away, but they do have a diner on site that is run by a third-party. I did it there and it was OK. It was better than fast food. It’s still in the growing phases and needs a lot more work inside and out. Needless to say, I will never go back.

My stay was amazing. The property was very well maintained. The staff was awesome. Made me feel at home. The room was excellent. The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens were very soft and clean. The atmosphere was indescribable. There was a patio area that was so inviting. There was a swing and wind chimes next to the lake which made it easy to forget the day.

We booked this last minute as a one night stay on our way home. The property itself was okay. The email and instructions we were given ahead of time said to text them if you were going to arrive late. We texted and never got a response. So then we called and got voicemail. Either way when we got there we were still able to check in without issue having gotten there just before the deadline. We actually had a connecting room. The room with the queen and kitchenette was quaint and nicely decorated, but the sheets had stains on them. Also the freezer in the room had not been cleaned out and had fish bait in it. In the connecting room with two beds for the kids the beds were fine but the bathtub was really gross. It looked like someone had cleaned their fish in it and there was a lot of mildew/mold. The walls are very very thin and the people in the room next to us were screaming at each other until late into the night. At least 11pm if not later. The owners provide single packages ear plugs presumably because of this issue, however I just left the tv on until I couldn't hear them carrying on anymore. Overall we may have considered it for a longer start in the future but given the reasons above we likely won't be back.

Bells marina is an out of the way place tucked in a campground. The owners were very attentive, room was lovely and comfy
