Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle - All Inclusive

It’s a beautiful resort and the staff is amazing. Almost feel like you at home

Very nice

This was, perhaps, the worst all inclusive resort experience I have ever had. I will start with the cigarette smell in the room and trash littered along the hallways. My view was a concrete rooftop littered with cigarette butts and trash. It was a very lackluster presentation and decoration of the room, lacking any trace of luxury or indulgence. The food was not the best. It was often lacking flavor or even salt. The champagne was so cheap it didn’t even bubble when the waitress poured it. The room service was a choice between a COLD turkey sandwich or some cold nachos with bell peppers whenever they ran out of jalapeño. It also took about an hour or two for room service to come, so before you do that, it’s best to go grab a bite at the sports bar which had the best food on the resort. The in-room mini bar was supposed to be restocked daily, but I ran out of Johnny Walker on my second day. I asked for a restock that did not come. After 2 days, I requested to speak to a manager and the bar was restocked after. There was mold and discoloration in the shower. Overall, the experience felt very cheap, and it was obvious that the owners are very frugal to a fault. I will not return but the outdoor grounds were BEAUTIFUL and the choreographer for the live entertainment DOES HER THING! It was so good every time! I also enjoyed the party MC, Rooster. He’s a great time!

This is my 3rd RIU to visit and they are all beautiful properties. Great amenities, love the shows.

For a newer resort I was expecting a little more with RIU Aquarelle. The staff were definitely inviting, the entertainment was good, the food was decent. We had an ocean front room where the views were very nice. However, the beach needs some upkeep. Frequently seen garbage on the beach.. old diapers, and old reusable cups from the resort. The chairs on the beach are plentiful but, there are very few umbrellas. There isn’t much landscaping on the beach with palm trees so the sun is blazing down on you. The umbrella that we finally got from the lifeguard who hands them out was broken and was rigged up to stay up partially on one side. Most of the umbrellas were broken that were available and there wasn’t many that you seen out. That’s probably why the beach chairs were plentiful on the beach. Be careful going out in the water in the area of the hotel; there are so many rocks. My husband stubbed his toe on a couple of them before we realized this area wasn’t good to go out in the water. The locals walking the beach also warned us after we found out the hard way. There needs to be signs warning about the rocks.

This wasn’t first time at an resort I must say 10/10 definitely recommend

Great experience

Clean rooms, beautiful property and excellent staff. Traveled with a group of 25 and everyone had a great time. My one complaint is one of the staff members asked my son for the WIFI password and when he said he doesn’t know it she told him it’s on a paper that the front desk gives us.

We love the staff. They were the highlight of our trip. Hopefully, I spelt their names correctly but Thank you to Celcilia and A-Aliayah in the breakfast dining room. Shawn at the American after-hour bar and MoMo from entertainment. They were all happy to assist and within reason, you never heard the word no. Thank you!!!!

My stay at Riu palace aquarelle was beautiful. I love it there.
