Casa Mallet by Wynwood House

Casa Mallet was an excellent choice for our stay. Located in beautiful Casco Viejo it was a charming, lively and very walkable area of the city with lots of history. I would recommend staying there- the apartment had all the amenities and was so comfortable. The decor was tasteful and they were great about communicating all the information for our stay. It was a 10!

This is our second stay at Casa Mallet. The property is fresh, newly renovated and well appointed. Centrally located for everything in Casco Viejo. May is always there to get you settled in and to assist in any way.

Casco Antiguo in Panama is a magical place by itself. Does not matter where you stay, the vibrant streets, the old and modern coming together, all the history surrendered to each step is just amazing. Casa Mallet is a nice building, in a fantastic location. It has been renovated and it is a good option, especially for a family to stay in an apartment-like hotel. It is well designed and decorated with Panamanian art craft and with a modern and comfortable touch. We did not use any appliance or stay long, as to give a proper opinion of the facility. We just slept one night, after a wonderful social event-party held nearby. Beds and sheets were standard and OK. AA a little bit noisy, especially on the kids bedroom. But in general was OK. But, on the negative side, privacy on my personal and financial data was a BIG issue with them . Read the Do not Like.

Beware of giving them photos of your credit card or yourself.  Beware of the extra expenses, you will be charged a quite expensive cleaning fee at a very early time BEFORE your arrival date. Check and clarify details before making a booking. Cleaning is not the best. Check other options in Casco. Besides any details of the apartment itself, I was completely astonished by the request of PRIVATE and SENSITIVE data, such as: Credit Card photo and even a Selfie. What do they need a selfie of me for?. That has been the most invasive request from a hotel, ever.  And I've been in many countries and in many hotels, with booking or others. My credit card was Charged first, including a quite expensive cleaning fee, two weeks BEFORE the stay date. After, the craziest thing happened. They, as Wynwood House started to send emails requesting an actual photograph of my credit card. I ended up having a direct chat with them, calling my Panamanian lawyers and bank (to know if that was a legal procedure in Panama) and writing to booking.com.  If they already charged my credit card, why do they need to verify it AFTERWARDS?  For ONE night?. I was a lifetime experience. They agreed on showing my credit card upon arrival at the front desk, as per usual. At the arrival they confirmed my credit card and the ID's. Everything was OK. Then, the most surprising thing EVER in a hotel happened: they requested a SELFIE. I say NO. Nevertheless, they took a photo of my ID without the sensitive data., which is common in Panama entering the buildings and so.  I've used booking for more than 15 years, without any problems, until now.

Casa Mallet was a beautiful, newly renovated property. The location is perfect for exploring on foot Casco. Each couple had their own beautifully appointed bedroom and bath. Kitchen was well stocked. Having an elevator made it easy with the luggage.
