AWOL Stowe

Pictures on website are not what the rooms look like. WiFi is going in and out , the room smells and hardly any water pressure. Don’t stay unless you have no other choice.

My mom and I were taking a drive across some Eastern states, visiting from Nevada. AWOL was a perfect stop. We were originally only going to stay for 2 nights, but upon arrival, we knew we loved it and decided to extend for another 2 nights. The drinks and food in the bar were excellent. The continental breakfast was fabulous. Still close enough to the center of town for convenience, but far enough out feel secluded. The Scandinavian vibe was so peaceful and everything was kept clean and tidy. We took advantage of the hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge. I highly recommend this location for anyone wanting to spoil themselves. 🤍

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at AWOL. The property is adjacent to hiking trails and is serene in its simplicity. An abundance of trees, natural materials in the rooms like wood and stone create a soothing atmosphere. One could sit on a balcony reading a book like I did, overlooking the trees during a light drizzle, or gather at night in front of the fire pit. Quiet and quite relaxing. Breakfast service was perfect for us. Very good coffee, freshly baked breads, yogurt, fruit, greens etc. enjoyed in a room with lots of little nooks, looking out at the grounds. Walking distance to restaurants like Doc Ponds, less than a mile to Main St. in Stowe.

Great room, nice breakfast, terrific staff, understated classy and warm environment, all good- I'll be back.

We had a wonderful stay at AWOL. We loved the design. The hot tub, cold pool and sauna were fantastic after a day of hiking. The brunch spread was impressive- so beautiful and delicious! We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Vermont!
