Beautiful property with hot tub, sauna and cold plunge. Adults only.

This review is for the restaurant only. The building is beautiful the food was dismal , The worst food I have had in a restaurant ever, really ever. We were a party of 9 that night We ordered the humus and it was the best thing on the menu. We had 4 orders of the kale soup, it came out cold and was like water with a few things pitched in. I think they added water to make more servings. We had mushroom toast and meatballs all very bland and not well prepared. But the awol flatbread was a joke. it was just bread with a hint of toppings. I am not sure if the bartender was trying to cook , but we tried to get food for 9 people , it took hours , It was unbelievable what was served and I came home and made a sandwich . I am at a loss for words how bad this was. This also cost about $300.00, A bag of pretzels and some chips would have been more tasty. This was an obvious example of some one in the kitchen who did not know what to do, and rather no not serve bad food they threw together what they could . Horrible , awful , frustrating, amateur, and a total rip off

Clean and quiet great food and service

This hotel has a wonderful location, totally on trend with interior design and the breakfast is fantastic! It’s so quaint and pretty. Stowe is a fantastic vacation spot too. We adored Sara and her helpful suggestions. Great place for 4th of July!! We watched the fireworks on the lawn.

Upon arrival the property is really beautiful and serene. The main house where the check-in is located is also gorgeous. So cozy. Definitely worth checking out the complementary breakfast although I found the coffee to be horrible. We absolutely loved the hot tub. We used it a lot and were always the only ones out in the pool area. I have to mention that one of the two hot tubs was out of order. We had booked their two bedroom suit. The living area was huge and beautiful at first glance. But when you have a closer look you will spot quite a few flaws. First off all the floors are so squeaky and loud. I guess not much that can be done about it now. Second the kitchen cabinetry is very old and just got painted over. The drawers were stuck shut. Impossible to get to the cutlery. I just don’t understand how they put all the money and effort into renovating and upgrading the whole motel but then don’t invest in a new kitchen as well. Such a miss. The bathroom is small and lacks storage space as well as hooks for towels. It takes a good five minutes for the water in the shower to come to temperature. They should really do something about this. One of the bedrooms had absolute no closet or storage. The other one had a small closet. And that’s all the storage you get. No hooks for your jackets, no drawers, nothing. Like how do you forget about storage for your guest’s clothes? And we were only two people with only a summer jacket each. Now imagine a family with winter clothes.

Very clean new

Absolutely loved this place. Staff was great, check in and out was super easy. Very private feeling. Parking easy. We stayed in one of the cabins which we enjoyed the little back deck in the evening. They have some blueberry bushes in front of each cabin. Super relaxing environment. We would usually end our day by getting a drink(they had a great local Pilsner on tap), sitting by the fire and hot tub chatting with other guest about their days adventure. The location was great. A block from the Cady MTB trails and we rent bikes about a block away. The little breakfast was great as well. They had fresh fruit, granola yogurt, nuts seeds etc, a simple egg choice with greens(like hard boiled eggs), nummy homemade breads and bagel with nut butters jams etc. we also did a killer hike with great views a short drive to trailhead. I think it was pinnacle peak. Coffee shop was walkable and lots of restaurants. Highly recommend AWOL and would stay again.

Beautiful property with excellent amenities including a wooden hot tub, coffee and tea and an included fantastic breakfast. We thoroughly our time and will be back. The staff was friendly which for us is important. We felt relaxed and welcomed.

This hotel is motel style with direct room access from outside. It seems like someone had a great concept that was executed poorly and cheaply. Our premium ground floor pond view room was situated next to the parking lot and maintenance shed that was in disarray with broken furniture outside. The floors and walls are thin enough that we clearly heard conversations in other rooms, and above us each step they took creaked and shook the ceiling. Inside the room there were two chairs with curved seats in lieu of bed tables so our water glasses slid unless placed down right in the center. The electric outlet was an extension cord behind the bed. The mirror was in the corner behind a chair and fake standing plant I could go on but let’s just say it wasn’t well thought out or user friendly. I do want to give kudos to the woman in charge of breakfast, she was friendly and clearly cared about what she was doing. PS please fix the steps to the room from the parking lot - that teeny half step on the bottom made everyone we saw trip.
