A wonderfully quirky old railway wagon converted very expertly into a holiday let. Everything you need is there. It's very cosy and is set in a delightful place. Perfect setting for exploring the Brecon Beacons.

As mentioned in a previous review, a bit more attention to cleaning wouldn't go amiss. The windows need a clean inside, as does the mirror above the bed. We also found a plastic razor blade cover in the shower. It's a small attention to detail. Otherwise, the 9 score would be a 10.

Great location, lovely quirky carriage, easy check in, very comfortable. Well equipped and a nice view of the sheep in the orchard. Lovely walks straight from the door. Great communication from Liz.

Liked everything about it.

"Disappointing!"

4.0

Access to the property is via an electrically operated gate from the main road, leading into a small parking area at the front. A few days prior to arrival, guests are informed via email of the self-check-in procedure. This involves retrieving a key from a plastic lockbox outside the property. The accommodation itself is clean, tidy, and well-equipped.

This property is situated directly adjacent to a very busy main road, with constant traffic noise throughout the day and night. Guests seeking a quiet, peaceful environment may find this location unsuitable. I chose this property intending to fly a sub-250g DJI drone to capture the surrounding landscape and scenery. Unfortunately, the experience was not as expected. The photos on the booking.com listing are somewhat misleading, suggesting a remote setting with ample private space. In reality, the property is attached to the owners’ farm buildings and is located within a busy working farmyard. The surrounding area includes a large woodland on a hillside, offering a technically challenging but otherwise legal area for drone operation. There are no Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) flight restrictions in this location, nor is there any mention on the property listing prohibiting drone use. On July 25th, the owner approached me twice, expressing concerns that my drone might distress her horses. She referenced a prior incident involving another guest. I assured her I would not fly at low altitudes near the animals. All of my flights were conducted at altitudes between 50 and 120 metres, avoiding potential hazards such as overhead power lines and tall trees. The following day, July 26th, the owner again confronted me—this time accusing me of flying over a neighbouring farm and taking photographs of their children. This allegation was completely baseless. Given the altitude of my flights and the limitations of my equipment, capturing detailed images of individuals on the ground was not possible. Due to the seriousness of this accusation and the overall discomfort caused, I chose to end my stay early, departing at 5:30am on July 27th. I do not intend to return to this property, as my experience was overshadowed by an unpleasant and accusatory interaction with the owner.

"An unusual and nicely quirky place to spend a couple of days, benefitting from good weather."

7.0

Location lovely - accommodation nicely quirky - nice to have WiFi - very comfortable bed - good outdoor space

Instructions for finding the property could have been clearer - shower was strong, but water temp a bit erratic - a mat for the sink would have been good as crockery felt vulnerable in the small sink. No-one’s fault, but daytime traffic noise was very noticeable.
