St Margaret's 2-Bed Chalet - Sleeps 4 & Pets ok

It would be preferable if the staff were somewhat bilingual. Especially in a tourist location. They know how to attract customers, but we complain that they make no effort to speak French. why us and not you ? If only I could, the rating would be 1/10. Just for that.

The proximity to Dover and other nearby towns and attractions was great and very convenient. The kitchenette was nice and helpful to have so as a family we did not have to eat out every day. The place was very clean and the hosts graciously left us a bottle of wine and crisps for us enjoy on our stay.

The shower is practically non functional. The drain clogs so badly that you cannot shower for more than 5 minutes without it starting to overflow. This also impacted the other sinks/drains and even the toilet. If you’re showering, you can’t use the kitchen sink as it backs up and smells horrible. Can’t use the bathroom sink or toilet either as they start to bubble up and back up too which was honestly so disgusting. The shower head kept falling off as well every time you tried to adjust it. Pretty sure the shower leaks out the bottom as well resulting in a huge puddle on the floor after every shower and also a bad mold smell. The water pressure was terrible. The beds were also horribly uncomfortable and I’m still feeling the effects of sleeping on such a soft/thin mattress. You could literally feel the springs while laying down on it. It also seemed like at some point the pantry had at least salt/pepper and cooking oil but the hosts didn’t ever replace it so that was a little annoying having to go buy whole containers of those things for just a 3 night stay. The resort this place is located on is also super trashy. The vibes were super weird and I would definitely never stay at a place like that again. The facilities were absolutely disgusting and poorly maintained (not the hosts fault) and it was not apparent that we had to pay extra to use them until the day we checked in. The pool was so cold and filthy as well as the locker rooms. The smaller pool was warmer but super small so it got crowded very quickly. The park is tiny and located across from some dumpsters so it smelled pretty gross. Lastly, there is WiFi at this place, but it ABSOLUTELY does not work. This resulted in the tv pretty much being useless save for a few cable channels. Would definitely not stay here again.

The mattress was awful! Seriously in need of a new one. Also requires a new shower! The place needs to be cleaned properly

The area es nice The staff was ok The restaurant food was good with good portion sizes and price was OK as well. The jacuzzi and sauna were good.

The fact that I had to pay £5 per person to use the swimming pool and £5 for a gym induction per person to use the gym and The pool times are very early or very late for adults as the premium times are used for children. The shower is too small and didn't work well, needs a bit of work in that .
