We arrived at the Salt Shack right as the kitchen was closing after a long walk from the Westin. Shany took pity on us and asked her manager if he could keep the kitchen open for us, and he did! We had the whole place to ourselves. The food was excellent—whatever else you get, get some Caribbean rice—and the passion fruit margarita was to die for. Shany was engaging and attentive. It was a great experience.

Great ocean front boutique hotel. Would like better poolside menu options but staff is very attentive. Swim up bar and infinity pool right on the ocean. Access to both the Westin and Buoy Haus facilities.

My wife and I came here for our 40th anniversary. The amenities are wonderful. One of the best parts is the ability to use the Westin (up the hill using a free shuttle) for additional pools and restaurants. The units are basically brand new as they were wiped out in 2017 by a hurricane and took 6 years to rebuild. The beach is small and snorkeling is poor. Also, I was hit with a $95/day "resort fee" when checking in that was not told to me when making the reservation. The rooms are spacious but there are no elevators so 2nd and 3rd floor rooms would be a hassle for some. The staff has been extremely nice and helpful. Checkin will take at least 20 min so there is room for improvement there.

We went to Marriott Buoy Haus St. Thomas USVI for our 50th wedding anniversary. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this resort a 15. The resort is absoulety stunning. All of the staff from front desk to housekeeping, to pool attendants and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks for the follwing people Knema (front desk) who helped with the planning of a private dinner for my wife and I on October 4th our anniversary. To Marc andToby managers of Isla Blue who set up a private dining room for us that night, Scott Larsen manager of Salt Shack were we had breakfast each morning. I spoke with Scott on the first moring of our visit and explained how my wife enjoyed a first cup of tea in the morning before breakfast. Each day of our visit Scott would have that cup of tea ready for me before we would come down for breakfast. Lastly Nadine, manager of the Shorebird restaurant located in the Westin Resort on property. She would always stop by to make sure everything was to our liking and chat. On our last dinner there before leaving the next day she found us before we left the restaurant to say goodbye.

I met Nae at the pool and she raved about Yoga with Jane. There was a class at the Buoy the next morning so I went. Jane was sweet, kind, funny and so generous with my limited experience. We stayed at Buoy Haus for three nights. The setting is lovely… right on the ocean and the accommodations are chic. For the most part, the staff is attentive and courteous. A couple of notable exceptions: We had very large piles of sargassum (seaweed) from a recent storm in front of the beach chairs outside of our villa. Someone had raked it into big mounds but not removed it. When we asked about it, we were assured the beach was cleaned each day. Late that afternoon, 3 workers swept the sand right in front of our chairs but left the piles, even though they had a wheel barrow! We decided to take the shuttle to the Marriott Frenchman’s cove and were told it came at 15 minutes past the hour. We waited an extra 30 minutes. No shuttle. When we asked, no one offered to call or help. We ended up driving our rental car instead. These weren’t really big inconveniences, but they did somewhat diminish the experience. The biggest drawback to this beautiful resort in our opinion, is value for the money. My husband ordered the house specialty French toast at Salt Shack for breakfast. It was $24… for one slice of bread. Isla Blue has nice entrees, but they are in the $50-$75 range. No other eating options are on property. We do want to give a huge shout out to Shany, our breakfast server. She was a delight!

Phenomenal place to stay! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Buoy House and were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is clean, quiet, and high class. The service really made the difference between an ok stay and exceptional. Kudos to Ty’elle and Shany at the Salt Shack and Nika for the chocolates. Corey was superb at the check in desk… very professional and attentive. Thanks everyone!

Shany at the Salt Shack was excellent….great service and food! Burger was done perfect and wife’s salad was fresh and crisp.

Great lunch experience yesterday at the Salt Shack with Shany. Friendly service with a smile and a wealth of information about local interests as a bonus!

We usually visit Ft Lauderdale for fall break and do a nice AI as a couples trip. This year our 16 year old wanted to try somewhere new. We chose St. Thomas bc she didn’t need a passport. After looking through all the reviews the Buoy House was an easy yes. We are here now and everything is as pictured. The hotel is beautiful. We are not beach people, we like looking at the ocean but not being in it that much. This resort has a small beach but the pool is awesome. We are here during the slow season and never had to battle for a chair. The pool staff is exceptional. Wendy and Aquane were always in a good mood and very helpful. Food at the pool is good and we ate there most days. Even though we are not beach people we took a day trip to St.John and used the car ferry at Red Hook. St. John beaches are gorgeous and we are glad we went. We never rent a car on vacation but based on reviews we did. I highly suggest renting a car. We were able to see and do more. Taxis are $$$$ they charge per person and if you plan to go to dinner a few times the rental is worth it. I read reviews that said locals were not friendly. We never experienced that anywhere we went. Chances are if they weren’t friendly then you were the problem.
