The Downtown Abbey

The downtown Abby was a great place to stay in San Marcos. Great location, clean and very large and comfortable room.

Such a cute little place. My little cousin and I both said we would live there ;) walkable to lots. Perfect for she and I to stay. She's 18 so she got the futon and I got the bed. Perfect space for us for the weekend!

We loved staying at the Downtown Abbey. The old wood floors and the historic architecture were beautiful. The price for what felt like a two-bedroom apartment was phenomenal! I would recommend a shower curtain kit around the gorgeous clawfoot tub. Showering is a bit cumbersome and it would preserve the gorgeous wood floors. We would stay again!

Loud neighbors in next suite that did not read info provided and locked me out of the building. No response from host after making complaint on noise.

My stay was amazing! The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. I’ve actually stayed at this property before and it was great during that stay too. It’s close enough to the square to walk and it has a cute, historic look on the outside and inside. I would definitely recommend!

Very good location and neat old church building, very quaint.

The area for sitting outside was not clean, lots of leaves and debris.

First night was fine (there's heavy street noise so front room too noisy but had 2nd bedroom. Even w/guests in adjacent apt , fine b/c they acted within norms Nice to have tub but they bought cheapest version without shower stand and made for someone short

Extended the stay not knowing they'd allow college partiers to violate <8 ppl rule in next apt & blasting music from the moment they checked in depriving of basic law right to peaceful enjoyment Finally got owner (called both #'s repeatedly over cpl hrs). He argued they only had to lower music after 10 pm which they didn't & he was "too busy" to go over there As w/ other reviews, he's nice until he had to be a responsible and,like another man's review, had to get other accmdtn due to owner negligence refusing to rectify situation
