Alobar1000 Hostel

very good location, friendly staff, sometimes might be a bit loud because of the music in the common place or from other hostels, but during the day time it's super nice. you can enjoy the pool, the air hocky and the rock climbing at the corner. or just sit in the cafe teria and meet new and interesting people.

i've stayed there every 2 times i visited Nepal. first time they didn't charge for somethings like refilling bottle or storing your bags but this time they charge haha. but in general it's a comfy and nice place.

We had a private double room which was fabulous, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was great, the best we found throughout the country. Staff very friendly and helpful too.

Super Ausstattung - vor allem, wenn man den Annapurna-Track und seine Lodges gewohnt ist. Wir hatten alles, sogar Wasser…

Das Hostel Alobar 1000 hat auch ein paar Einzelzimmer mit großem Bett. Die Bettwäsche und die Matratze ist in sehr angenehmer, guter Qualität und es hat für den Komfort an nichts gefehlt! Warmes Wasser und Haarföhn, sehr gutes kleines Restaurant mit einer sehr guten Kaffeeauswahl. Viele, eher junge Leute auf Reisen und vor allem ein sehr netter Staff, besonders hervorzuheben Kishor! Kish hat mir und ein paar anderen Ankömmlinge am ersten Abend gleich einmal (kostenfrei) die Altstadt näher gebracht, sodass ich mich gleich von Anfang meines Aufenthaltes an sehr wohl in Kathmandu fühlen konnte. Kishor organisiert auch völlig entspannt die Trekkings wenn man möchte oder gibt bereitwillig einfach nur Auskünfte über sämtliche Aktivitäten. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt im Alobar 1000 und es war ein sehr schönes Ankommen in Kathmandu.

The facilities were great, showers were hot and enough cubicles to accomodate the current guests. The seating spaces for each floor were nice for privacy and the main sitting/eating area was spacious and comfy. Rooms were cosy and beds comfy.

I was hoping for a bit more personal item storage in the room, like maybe some shelves near the bunk for a bag. The lockers were a good idea but being separate to the room meant they were only good for storing items you weren’t going to use that day without having to open your locker and dig through your bag in a public area.
