Amazing young new-generation sibling owners who were extremely hospitable and attentive to dwellers’ needs — including lending bicycles, offering pick-up services from the nearest bus & train station at no charge. The living environment and overall facilities (e.g., bath area, common space) were very homely, and brought back memories of staying with my Japanese host family almost a decade back. Other guests were extremely kind and considerate too! Amazing area — close by a beautiful shrine, the lake, and amazing eateries and cafes.

The guesthouse is very charming. The host very incredibly nice and super helpful and accommodating. We even decided to stay an additional night! Definitely a great stay.

We had an amazing time! Staying in a traditional house with futon beds was a unique experience. The hosts were incredible—they picked us up from the station and dropped us off without us even asking. When we inquired about renting bicycles, they generously offered us two bikes for free! They mentioned they were planning to buy two more for future guests, so we got brand new bikes, which was fantastic. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again if I visit Kawaguchiko.

The host of the property was so very kind! We were picked up from Kawaguchiko station (about a 20min walk) and we asked to be dropped off the morning of check-out. The rooms were great and can sleep 4 or maybe even 5 (if one is a young child). The location was decent with nothing being overly far, its about a 10 or 15min walk to the main city street crossing, where there are a few restaurants and a Lawson/7-11 on the way or closeby (including a larger grocery store if you just continue straight toward the station). The host(s) were just amazing people, even bought us a coffee the morning of checkout as we had to be out early (06h15m) to catch our 7am bus back to Tokyo! The room even has a partial view of Mount Fuji. My brother and I enjoyed going to a nearby onsen (Royal Hotel) which was about a 10 to 15m walk from the room. We went out on a limb as everywhere else was booked, but honestly this was even better than expected!

Our last night was a bit cold and the windows don't properly seal, so some of the cold seeped into the room, however, we did have enough warm blankets, thanks to the host!

We spent 4 nights at this charming place. It is an old traditional Japanese house, with beautiful lounge where you can enjoy tea and sweets, shared bathrooms and a couple of rooms, some with (partly) Fuji view. The house does not offer 5* luxury, but it’s very clean and convenient. The guesthouse is run by 2 very kind younger brothers, who recently reopened the business after a break (therefore not many reviews yet on booking…) They speak well English, and made us feel at home from the very beginning. They picked us up at the station and dropped us there on the way back to Tokyo. We could rent bicycles for free to go around the Kawaguchiko Lake. There is so much to explore in the area! Location of the house is very convenient, few minutes to the lake, a 7 eleven 4 minutes walking, very good local Japanese restaurant nearby. Finally, they even gave me a taxi ride to Subaru 5th station on a Sunday 5:00am (!!!) which allowed me to climb Mt Fuji and get back to catch the bus from 5th station in the afternoon, during off season in the middle of October, how cool is that? I’m so grateful for this experience. Thank you again guys, we had the best time during our entire 3 weeks trip in Japan 😀 We loved the place and the people, hope one day we will come back to meet again!❤️

Its a clean guesthouse not far from station with a lovely host. Rooms are with traditional Japanese style futon beds. Host kindly offered to drop us to the station for our early bus. He even prepared hot coffee for us.

These guys are the best nicest people you could meet ! They drove us to the lake and returned us to the station ( they just offered ) We are 65 + 55 y/old and enjoyed our stay here very much . It’s a walk from town - but we enjoy walking & it’s only 20 minutes if your slow .

Maybe a seat in the room could be a good idea but ok for younger people .
