"Roomy place with a honestly atmosphere and good food"

8.0

This property is great if you have a car . It is run by a very kind host and we had excellent japanese breakfasts and dinners that she cooked for us . It is good to do this as there is no other restaurants close by . We rented electric assist bikes at sunset beach for the day . Also highly recommended is the Hirayama uko art museum and hill of hope and Buddhist temple at sedota - both just breathtaking and unexpected. The architectural museum at onomichi is underwhelming

Description is misleading. We did not realise it was a homestay and that we would share the house with the owner. There was a kettle but no cups to make your own drink. After dinner, you could sit on a sofa or uncomfortable bar stalls or go to bed. The meals were good home cooking but not worth the money.

"Wonderful home stay at the half way point of the Shimanami Kaido."

9.0

We loved the host as she was extremely friendly, kind, and looked after us so well, after our day of cycling the Shimanami Kaido. The food she served for dinner and breakfast was great, and plentiful, and she even ran us a bath on our arrival to soothe our muscles from the time spent on our bikes. The home was spotlessly clean and well looked after.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. Thank you so much for a great experience.

Beautiful Japanese house, in a beautiful location. We stayed in 2 traditional rooms with tatami mats as a family of 5, it was very comfortable. The bathroom was shared with the owner, but there was a separate toilet next to our bedroom. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. ( The breakfast choice was Japanese or European, we had Japanese). Our bikes were wiped down before we set off by the owner as it rained in the night. Would stay again

"Perfect Halfway Stopping Point Along the Shimanami Kaido"

10.0

We stopped here during our two days of cycling and were very pleased with the stay. The host (Sayomi) is so gracious to open up her home to cyclists. She also provides a delicious dinner and breakfast which is so important as there are very few restaurants along the way. This is a true homestay and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Sayomi over our meals with the help of google translate.

The futons were very comfortable but if you have trouble getting up off the floor, this may not work for you. The house is up a very short hill (but this would be true for anywhere you stay along the route).

"Unique and personal experience."

9.0

Our host was very friendly and helpful. We arrived after 30km bicycling in pouring rain and she helped us wash and dry our clothes as well as made us feel home and welcomed. Both dinner and breakfast was included in the price and was very well prepared and tasty. Thanks for a lovely stay

"A wonderful stay at Sayomi’s"

10.0

Sayomi was such a kind and generous host. The food she cooked was amazing (and plentiful) and we enjoyed staying in a traditional Japanese house. Sayomi also helped us to arrange the transport. We loved the massage chair.

Being on a small island, it is difficult to reach it with public transport. If you don’t come by bike, it is best to use a taxi.
