Authentic vacation stay, amazing food, and extremely nice host. Everything was amazing she was nice and was very accommodating. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a real home cooked meal and a rest stop during the shimanami kaido.

"Feel like a local in a magical location"

10.0

The host was exceptional. Dinner and breakfast was included and both were traditional Japanese and delicious. Our host was so kind and drove us to the bike oasis where we hired our bikes. We absolutely loved the islands in the seto sea and it was wonderful to be staying on one of them and made to feel so welcome. The whole experience was a major highlight of our stay!

The property is away from the highway so we had to catch a local bus from the highway bus stop and then walk with our suitcase. But that’s the case with most places on the islands so plan ahead as the local buses are infrequent.

"Refreshing and restoring. My highest recommendation. SAIKOU"

10.0

The dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing and high quality, made with love. In the USA, it would cost more than the total price of this stay at Sayomi's house. The house is a peaceful location up a hill with incredible views and solitude. It's perfectly clean and the bath facilities are high tech and modern, while the home itself has a warm, traditional and home-like feel. Sayomi is incredibly kind and generous. The food is unbelievable. She doesn't speak much English but will still try and communicate in a friendly way, and you can have a good conversation with translator apps. There's also a massage chair and the bath is great for after a long bike ride. Staying here fueled me to finish the difficult bike ride and it is one of my highest recommendations in Japan.

The only drawbacks would be that if you are very tired, the hill up to the house is challenging on a bike. And that people who are not willing to speak and listen in Japanese will have a tough time. But it's worth it.
