"Good value for money but depressing first impresion"

This place is good value for money. The bathroom is new and the heating works very well.

The kitchen has not been properly cleaned for some time. The kitchen bin had not been emptied, there were crumbs on the dining table, the cupboards smell of damp and the doors were dirty. Also, windows were really dirty, including front door, giving a poor first impression. I found the recess in the main bedroom, above the stairs, creepy. I do not understand the purpose of that space and could not sleep in that room.
