Great location

Property has a lot of potential Needs a deep clean and refurb and then will be excellent

History of the cottage preservation. Close to the lake- location.

I get that the cottage needs the history preservation, however the walls need rejuvenating- painting.

The location

The property was in an unacceptably poor state of cleanliness. There was heavy dust throughout the cottage, which made the environment uncomfortable and difficult to sleep in. This fell well below the standard expected for paid accommodation at this price point. The bathroom contained visible mould, raising serious hygiene and health concerns. Combined with the dust, the air quality inside the property felt poor, and we believe this exposure contributed to us feeling unwell during our stay. We were particularly disturbed to find a mouse trap under the single bed in the lounge area, strongly suggesting an existing pest issue. Discovering this in guest accommodation was distressing and significantly affected our sense of comfort and safety. Due to a fully booked travel itinerary, we had no practical option but to stay. However, the condition of the property ruined our experience in Lake Tekapo, and we feel the accommodation was misrepresented and significantly overpriced for the standard provided.

Location was terrific- the stay itself was pretty bare-bones. The cottage is no-frills and is a little dingy in terms of quality, but was clean

The price is justified by the location but not necessarily but the quality of the facilities
