Tekapo1929 - Pioneer Cottage

Location is great and everything you needed in the cottage was available including hot towel racks.

The Pioneer cottage is behind another cottage. That means there is no view. If just the location matters to you then this is very good. But the per night rate was super high. Not value for money though.

Close to the waterfront/church. Friendly owner. quiet environment

We were three friends staying for one night in Tekapo, and our experience was genuinely great. The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The owner was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. What really stood out was the support he gave us during checkout. It was pouring rain, we had to catch an intercity bus, and there were no Ubers available. We messaged him through the booking app, and he responded immediately. He even offered to drop us off at the station for a very reasonable price. We didn’t have cash on us, and the ATM nearby was going to charge extra fees, so he kindly suggested that instead of paying him in cash, we could just buy a couple of food items from the store for him. Such genuine kindness is rare these days. Overall, a lovely stay with an even lovelier host. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent

Needs TLC, alot.

The cottage was comfortable and in a great location.

The location was perfect.

There was no hot water when we arrived so had to use the unit opposite. The bathroom was pokey & cold, no heater. No tea towels.

Everything was good. Loved the location!
