"Ok but don’t think we’ll return."

Central location

Radiators didn’t turn off and too noisy from pub opposite to leave windows open.

Amazing amazing location, couldn’t ask for a better spot in Ambleside

Only thing worth mentioning is that you can lock the window, which is potentially reachable from the road behind

"Brilliant stay"

10.0

Fantastic little guest house, close to all that Ambleside has to offer but very peaceful as well, really comfortable room with a great shower, took our two small dogs as well they loved it, can throughly recommend, ps although no parking at the venue you get a car park permit and there’s plenty of car parks well within walking distance.

"Lovely small hotel in the heart of Ambleside"

Central location , clean, nice decor. Tea and coffee and biscuits replenished daily. Easy check in

Separate bathroom which needed a key was a bit annoying. Also pub downstairs and across the road was loud

"Great location, great accommodation just a questionable smell that we didn’t get used to"

Great location

There was a smell of drains in our room that wasn’t coming from the toilet or outside that we couldn’t get rid of

"A really warm and cosy room right in the heart of Ambleside"

10.0

We had a lovely stay here. We booked the Mountain View room with a private bathroom, and both the bedroom and bathroom were finished to a really high standard. The room was warm, cosy, and very comfortable, with plenty of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, etc provided, plus additional supplies available downstairs if needed. We ended up spending most of one day in the room due to bad weather, but the space was so comfortable that it didn’t feel like a compromise at all. It’s also very dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like towels available by the front door. The included parking pass was a great bonus, especially as many places we looked at didn’t offer this. Although the parking is a short 3–5 minute walk away, it was very straightforward and not an issue for us. Overall, a fantastic stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Nothing that impacted our stay at all, but a couple of small points that may be useful for future guests. As the property is an older house with traditional sash windows, there can be a little bit of street noise at times. It didn’t bother us in the slightest and we still had an excellent night’s sleep, but it’s worth being aware if you’re particularly sensitive to noise. Also, the room we stayed in had a private bathroom located just next door, accessed via the communal hallway. This was clearly set up with bathrobes and slippers provided, so it was still very comfortable and not an issue for us, just something to note when booking. I believe the other rooms are en-suite if that’s a preference.
