The Old Water Works - Flat 1

I booked this 2bedroom apartment for work 2 men working together on arrival only 1 of the 2 big double beds was made. I msg asking for the 2nd bed to be made. I was told that I only booked 1 bed so would have to pay more. When booking I was not asked how many beds I wanted. Not happy but said ok I'll pay the extra charge. The 2nd bed was never made for the 3 night stay. ( work colleagues had to share the bed ) The widow at top of the stairs locked open. ( cold ) Only 1 heater in main living area ( cold) Not heating in the bathroom ( cold ) No water pressure for the shower None of the sockets in the kitchen area worked had to put the kettle and coffee machine on the floor. Coffee machine didn't work anyway. The pictures all look nice warm n cosy. Its a very tired building the touch up of paint is different colours It's an old barn / offices tin roof very cold very nosy when it rains and windy. 2 out of the 3 night I couldn't sleep I thought the roof was going to come off from the banging in the wind

Peaceful beautiful Very spacious Clean and Comfortable bed Kitchenette is well equipped Plenty of parking available on site Could see farm animals. Surrounded by farms. Prompt response from host when we found difficult to locate the property in dark. Very helpful. Thank u

Loved it. Just a few suggestions. Not sign posted onto main road. Hard to find when dark- suggest to check in when light is there. No internet -(was mentioned on their page that no internet access). We have missed checking that out. Wish there was wifi Shower is luke warm and pressure is weak and stops inbetween.

Loved this place, the accommodation was perfect! Very spacious place, great bedrooms space and fabulous comfortable beds and bedding. Would highly recommend this place. The hosts and their family were very welcoming, with the added advantage of being in a rural treat hide away, for us this was the perfect stay! The location is beautifully placed in amongst green fields and views to make you unwind and calm, with the lovely addition of farm animals of all descriptions. Very relaxing, fab stay, can't wait to return!

What's not too like, we loved it!!!

Very spacious, well equipped and very helpful children who seem to enjoy an amazing time with their many pets.

Quirky, good bath and large comfortable bed.

The hosts appeared friendly and very apologetic following our first and only night of a 4 night stay. However after promising a refund if we wanted to leave due to how unpleasant it was they did not follow through with this and we are still trying to gain a full refund.

Firstly, the cleanliness. There are cobwebs, the bed sheets had stains and are dirty and so was the sofa. The floor had not been cleaned. I cleaned this myself with wipes. They were black.(see photos) We washed the kitchen essentials as these too were not clean. We asked for new bed covers and these were brought from the main house but they were going out so we had to put them on ourselves. As you enter the property you go up a flight of stairs, however there is a missing door, so you simply go straight in, this was unsafe for my son of 3 who was booked in with us, nothing was mentioned about this so we did not have a stair gate to protect him or a door to close to keep him away from the stairs! There were also wires exposed and sticking out of the wall! The water in the bathroom did not flow correctly, the bath took over an hour to fill a quarter of the way and the shower is pointless to use as it simply has no pressure at all. It trickles out. (See photos) The hosts said this was the same in the main house which was not an excepted response!? Nothing had been detailed about this before arriving. We believe this property has been falsely advertised it is on a farm and it is not a flat but a conversion with a tin roof- we barely slept due to hearing the weather all night and something scurrying along the roof base that was next to our heads! We also became pro spider catchers before we got in to bed. The experience was just unpleasant and uncomfortable. We left the property after the 1st night and are still chasing a refund. Booking.com have not been able to convince the property that we deserve this money back following our stay. Beware and stay away if you want a nice place to stay whilst in holiday and don't want to end up like us having to find alternative accommodation during peak season.
