The house is a short walk from the center. Although it is on the road, there was no noise. There were only the necessary for everyday life. The size of the rooms was satisfactory, it would need to have more space for clothes. In a short distance there are supermarkets and a bakery that stay open until late. We used the parking lot that is a few blocks down and was essential if you have a car.The house was clean and we had good communication with the host.

There are no wardrobes in the rooms, only hangers.

overly fragranced upon arrival. the pillows had also been sprayed very heavily with a fabreze. On day of leaving we found what looked like vomit on the window frame. Host claimed this was glue left over.

The apartment was in an excellent location, in walkable distance from Bilbao old town and the metro, if you are young and fit. There is also a regular Bilbobus service if, like us, you are getting on and finding life a lttle more challenging. The neighborhood was lively, with a small supermarket, a small bakery, a bar and a Peruvian restaurant (well worth trying) across the road. The small balcony at the back of the apartment, (not really a terrace but just fits a table and two chairs), overlooks a children's payground and a small park with a fountain. The secure parking, in a below-ground car park, was perhaps expensive (15 euros a day) and challenging to find on the first day, but using a car in the city and finding on-street parking would have been by far the worse option. The apartment owners provided a public transport Barik card, already loaded with 5 Euros to use on Bilbao's excellent public transport system - buses, metro and trains (even the funicular railway). So no need to use a car unless you want to get out of the city

The apartment was looking a little tired, there were some cleaning issues and a chair in need of repair when we arrived. There was a minimum provision of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There was an iron but no ironing board; and a washing machine but no drying rack. There was no information about the appliances in the kitchen or disposal of rubbish, and minimal tourist information provided.

We were able to make our own breakfast. There are several groceries close by that have a good selection of fresh produces.

Everything was fine. We were there during the Begona Carnival days - the city was really (over)crowded, but there were many interesting events to attend. The festivities went on late into the night/early morning, which was a disadvantage for our stay near the city centre.

Good location, clean and spacious. Really helpful host.

Not enough bedroom storage space

We loved the apartment, it was very nicely decorated. It has everything you need and well maintained (which is uncommon in rental apartments so that was a nice surprise)

We would have liked to have more blankets because it was a bit cold and it took a while for the heating to warm the whole apartment.
