"Extremely loud trains 24hrs a day."

The hot tub view with the lake

How close we were to other lodges- not private or secluded as stated. The noise level from the neighbourhood as well as hourly trains passing 24hours a day. Definitely not quiet, As stated. (It is as loud as walking out onto a runway to get onto a plane as the tracks are directly behind the lodge). I fell down an open sewage drain that was NOT secured, which had human waste in. Attempted contact with staff through different channels and had no reply at all. We arrived on a thursday evening for a long weekend and went home first thing on the friday morning. They have still not responded to me and have refused to refund any of the £610 they charged when asked by booking.com. Weekend and our valuable time off ruined.

"Fantastic weekend away."

We loved everything about our stay in Holly Lodge 12, the setting is perfect, the lodge has everything you need, hot tub is a fantastic addition with a beautiful view onto the lake, this lodge is nice and private, bed very comfy, staff very friendly. Location is perfect just a short walk to the bus to get to and from York if you don't want to drive or taxi. Absolutely loved it and wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

Nothing to dislike it was fabulous.
