Apartment No.2 - The Old Red King Pub MCR

It was quirky and the flat itself was well set out. The heating was easily adjustable and access was easy. Parking was a big bonus.

The facilities in the kitchen were poor. Dirty pots and pans, no sharp knives or baking trays /ovenware for food preparation. No colander or sieve to drain pasta, rice or veg. The breakfast basket was empty and the coffee and tea provided were left open to the elements so we did not use them, or the 23 sachets of tomato ketchup. Stools had broken footrests so sitting up to the table for food was difficult Bathroom provisions equally unimpressive. Only one half used toilet roll provided, no body wash, but 5 types of conditioner. The floors and cooker also needed better cleaning

The flat was spacious, cleaned, feeshly hoovered. Towels and toiletries were provided. I removed 2 marks because we had a whole range of shampoos and conditioners .but no shower gel. The sofa bed in the living room needs attention, you feel like falling between the boards. The double bed was comfortable though. Given how much attention the owner gave to this please I hope he addresses this in a timely manner. The host was very understanding and willing to help. He answered my call with I contacted him quite late in the night with a problem I had, and he offered me a solution.

It was way bigger than expected. There was so much space for just the two of us. It would be ideal for a long stay. It's also very close to beautiful places to walk, as well as multiple tram stations. The staff we spoke to were very kind.

It was a little loud at night sometimes with the locals. Nobodys fault. We were just jetlagged already.

Handy location near tram stop direct to Manchester, with local cafes and restaurants and supermarkets. Bathroom is accessed from the corridor which means someone can sleep in the living room without disturbing anyone in the bedroom. Surprisingly quiet even though the street is busy. Good heating. A lovely hamper was provided with juice, bread, eggs, crumpets and snacks. Easy access to motorway for Liverpool and York.

Car parking was dicey due to crowding in the car park. However there is street parking nearby. The apartment could benefit from block out curtains and some more glasses. And the broken bar stool should be replaced.
