No4 On The Door

Most of the facilities were very good. Microwave, air fryer, coffee maker, kettle toaster all provided. I especially liked the table and chairs by the window. Fans for hot weather were very welcome.

Visitors should be aware that there is no conventional hob or oven. There is only a SINGLE portable induction ring so no proper cooking is possible.

Collecting the keys was a major problem. Email received minutes before getting into the property when we had no internet coverage. Apparently, this has happened before. Why not have a password for the key lock box based on day of arrival, e.g. A2408. The A/B could depend on odd or even month and scramble the numbers in such a way that your housekeeper and host would know how to set it. This would avoid the last-minute nonsense when people are travelling and no internet. All the doors in the apartment are problematic. The main door is loose and bangs every time a door in the building is used causing a change in air pressure. The bathroom door squeaks and grinds on closing and the cupboard door is broken. All the facilities were excellent but too many of them, leaving little work space in the kitchen area. Two touch lights - excellent but one would not work. Had to swop them over to enable us to see the controls on the microwave. Maybe some under-counter lighting would be a benefit.

The hallway up to the flat is dingy and dirty.

We liked the east walk to town with its cafes, restaurants, wonderful museum and shops. We appreciated having onsite parking and good appliances including a pod coffee machine with pods and a washing machine after a couple of weeks on the road. Great shower but small. You wouldn’t want to be a big person.

The self contained studio apartment was very good on the first floor and was spotlessly clean and well presented, however the building entrance hallway and stairs were very grubby and uninviting. We thought we had gone to the wrong property. We also appreciated the single double glazed window but once opened up for fresh air, the traffic noise was deafening.

decor facilities and cleanliness inside the accommodation were great.

difficult to find correct entry to building, not well signposted. exterior of building and shared stairway did not match the standard of inside the room itself - run-down and dirty. pricing seemed higher than I have otherwise experienced for similar stays in Fort William, so value for money was debatable. (rest of building temporary/homeless accommodation?)

Location a bit too outside from center. Building a bit outdated and apartment while had all things on it was a bit small
