3 Bedroom House, 95 Aquirus Drive, Rotorua

The 3 bedroom house was advertised as having a ‘’fully equipped kitchen “ BUT after reading this you see what you think. But first the most disturbing problem was that as is my norm I found the ONLY smoke alarm in a house this size not working and to keep it short bought 2 of my own as “you know the time of this year”. Oh well it’s nearly xmas I suppose that trumps smoke inhalation for my grandchildren. This place had NO brush and shovel (until I asked) NO first aid, NO dishwashing liquid (til I asked),NO roast pans for oven so had to buy foil ones. NO dryer (as listed), NO vacuum, NO cups only glasses some plastic and cracked, NO fire extinguisher, NO grater , NO vegetable peeler, NO can opener,NO basics ie salt and pepper, NO scissors,NO teaspoons, NO bowls for eating or serving except many small plastic ones,……I mean seriously I could go on. There was nowhere to hang clothes or towels either in bathroom or closets. No towel rail,hooks in bathroom. WE all joked about shower because the mixer was so touchy so it was either hot or cold. No working fan in bathroom or plug for sink. Has a pop up plug but the important bit missing. The shower drain had no cover so just a big hole waiting for flannel or what have you to go down. NO chopping board I mean come on lol. Look this was so bad it was almost comical we had to make jokes to get by. The management obviously get a good return for actually doing the bare minimum you can. BUT the smoke alarm was a biggy for me and I’m pretty sure ILLEGAL. I complained to booking.com but you know they’ve got the money so……… I mean it was just disappointing first night there we had got the kids food to cook in oven Right. Can’t they hungry it’s getting late so I’m out $75 straight away for some takeaway pizza. It just set the scene. This is also ny first and hopefully last bad review as I normally “get it right “ and don’t book on a whim. I got shafted square and square. Be warned.

I like the house because it so spacious and comfortable with family. There’s a gate fence and it makes us feel saver, good communication with the agent, there’s free wifi, tv, there’s pots, plates, cups, cutlery and also hot chocolate, tea, coffee, toilet paper, tea towels, clean towels, hand towel, everything you need are all in the house, we will come back later for our next holiday. We love the house and recommend this place is so good if you’re in a budget or big family, this place is perfect for you, also big parking spaces and large deck outside.

What I don’t like is the hot water in the shower and in the kitchen as well, especially in the shower because the handle it so hard to manage to balance to get a warm shower, same with the kitchen handle, to my thinking they’re old or need replacement. Apart from that everything in the house perfect and very comfortable.

Good location.

As per the message there should be a drayer for drying the cloths. But there was nothing. There was a tap underneeth the sink which was supposed to connect to the washing machine which was left along and makes the floor wet. Please check those taps at the entrance. When we tried to sweep the floor there was no broom which was little bit disappoint. There was no diswashing liquid near to the wash basin at the kitchen, insted they kept a toilet cleaner Domex for cleaning the dishes, which makes frustating, because we need to go back to the shop to buy the dishwashing liquid.

The beds were comfy.

There was no dishwash liquid, tea towel etc.No cleaning products at all. No cooking utensils pots pans etc. We had no choice but to eat out.The vacuum was absolutely loaded with dust, rubbish & hair. I used a plastic bag to pull everything out of the vacuum bag just to TRY & vacuum. Wasn't cleaned properly, someone's fake lashes were on the bathroom window sill & in one room under the bed was someone's dirty undies. The lawn had previously been mowed with no catcher & the grass left which was like hay so no kids playing out in the yard!!

Location was not good and no breakfast options like there were no cups, and 2 sugar puches only and no coffee puches and no milk packets.

Nice modern home - opposite Kawaha Primary School. Excellent neighbors around. Good access to everywhere in Rotorua. Clean and large family home with wonderful air-condition and good deck and front and back yard fully fenced. Nice and safe to kids.
