City Centre Dockside Apartment - 2 Bed, 2 Bath

l’appartement est très bien situé près de la vie nocturne de Galway. Le parking réservé juste à côté est très appréciable. La résidence était calme (mi mai) et chaque chambre profite d’une salle de bain.

L’absence de rideaux occultant dans les chambres pour la lumière du jour avec un soleil qui se lève très tôt, nous ne sommes pas habitués en France !

Location

Very poor communication with Malcolm the host. I called because WiFi wasn’t working. He said he would call back but never did. We got it sorted out and I texted him we did. But no response. The day we left I had a couple questions. I called him on my phone. Seem like he blocked the number or something and I tried through WhatsApp a text and a phone call and never a response. That goes a long ways for me so I think people should know that Malcolm is a very poor communicator for his guests. I would never do that to a guest.

The location and the manager went above and beyond to get us in a little early. We were exhausted as we came in from the US and had flown all night.

Location, decor, clean, comfortable space

We love hot water for long showers, fitted mattresses sheets were not clean/had hair.

I liked that it was so close to the Latin quarter so you could walk 5 minutes and be at all the restaurants and bars. The apartment also overlooks the bay which was pretty to see. I also had a hiccup getting into the apartment because the keys weren’t where they were supposed to be but the owner was very quick to get in touch with to help me figure the problem out.

The apartment smelled like jalapeños (only thing I could think of that is smelled like) and even leaving the windows open… the smell wouldn’t go away. Also the WiFi DOESNT WORK. So it will say you are connected but in reality you’re not and for someone who needed the WiFi to keep in contact with people it was frustrating. The instructions also were a bit confusing getting there because booking.com says dock road but it’s not its dock street. There is a dock road in Galway so just be mindful.

Good location. Near the heart of the city

While the complex was located in a great part of the city, finding the apartment key and the room itself was like a scavenger hunt. The listing described the beds as king-sized, but this was not the case. Also, during our stay, the Wi-Fi went out, and the owner was unresponsive when we asked for additional help through the issue.

The apartment was ok. Very comfortable, warm and pleasant. Easy enough to find, really good that there is parking available. Lovely size rooms, bathrooms, overall apartment larger than it looked in pictures.

There were a few issues, none that would stop us staying again, but given the price these should be addressed. The smell in the bathrooms, mentioned by almost all the reviews. This is obviously a drainage issue and needs to be looked at. We purchased additional airfreshener devices to place in each bathroom which helped cover the smell but it was still there. There was no wifi for the entire duration. We were being prompted to purchase a contract/ pay a bill. We contacted the host who said he would sort this out, but it still didn't go on. Stains. The apartment itself is very clean, we could not fault that. Plenty of towels, no tea towel though so unable to dry dishes once washed. The pillows and cushions on the bed are all stained which is off putting considering this is where you sleep. A small investment into new pillows/ bedding would make such a difference. In one of the bedrooms, the wardrobes were full with household/ building supplies which made the majority of the wardrobe unusable by guests. There were paint pots, tools etc.
