Apartment 4 - The Kings

Our family had a truly excellent 6 night stay here, and we loved every minute! The location is amazing! Everything you need right on your doorstep. The Shambles is right around the corner. So many lovely restaurants and shops close by. The view was incredible, and you can see York Minster from the living room windows. It's worth the climb up the steps! Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Gorgeous apartment! We absolutely loved its quirkiness. We'll definitely be back!

The only thing I would add is a little light next to the key security boxes would be great.

Although we were aware of stairs do the property, we didn’t realise there were quite so many - 53 to be precise! Some confusion over the exact location of the property once we had picked up the keys-didn’t realise it was around the corner.

The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Centrally located close to everything we needed. 2 min walk to the Minster and shops galore all around. Close to plenty of restaurants.

It can be noisy at night with late night revellers heading home or with entertainment out on the street. Early morning bin collections and shop deliveries - we got used to it and wouldn’t put us off staying here again.

Totally central location, very convenient if a bit loud in the afternoons; but hey, it's vacation time and the city gets really quiet after 22 hrs. Extraordinarily cozy and huge living space with many ingenuous personal touches, books and board games. Well-equipped kitchen with a big fridge, a whole range of spices and other gimmicks, including a (manual) coffee-grinder. Clean and well-built bathroom with comfortable tub/shower combination, even for tallish people. Nice vacuum cleaner.

The entryway has a rather steep staircase and smells a bit. The always-full garbage containers (and the key box) are located in a dank and dark alley/closed space (not unsafe, but unsavoury). There was no hair dryer (although advertised) and the biggest pot in the kitchen (for noodles or such) is sadly missing - only its steam insert is left and looking lonely. Tall people, mind the overarch on your step down into the (fantastic, did I mention it?) living room.

Location; look and feel of the flat; flat is well appointed. Instructions for keys, etc were clear.

A basin in the kitchen sink would've been good. Less risk of chipping ceramic cups or cracking sink when washing dishes. We were careful, but others may not be.

Beautiful spacious well catered apartment. Excellent location, close to everything. Special thanks to the owners for providing this accommodation, and the special thoughtful touches. Wonderful management as well.

Our stay was not long enough.

I often book holiday accommodation & often much of a muchness. This place delivered more than that & felt so homely. Everything & anything you would or could possibly need & more!

Exceptionally hard to fault! A tea towel maybe? As didn’t use the dishwasher for a couple of plates & glasses.

The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed. The location was right in the centre, within walking distance of all sights, museums and shops.

Very noisy early in the morning with delivery trucks, cleaning vans etc - some days starting as early as 4.30! Some trucks kept their engine running for over an hour while being parked in front of the apartment. We didn't get much sleep during our stay as a result of this. We expected a city centre apartment to be noisy but not to this extent. The alley where we had to collect our keys was very dark and the key box was difficult to close. We also had to take out our own rubbish.
