Escape 2 Unwind, Minster Retreat - Sleeps 5

Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from York minster, 15 minutes to train station. Flat was spotless, very comfortable and very well presented. Hosts were lovely and checked in with us to see eveything was okay. Could not get a better location for visiting York.

Easy access and excellent communication from the host made check-in straightforward. The apartment is beautifully styled, with excellent amenities, and is perfectly located right in the centre of York. There are plenty of bars and places to eat nearby, and having a Tesco just around the corner was really convenient. The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed, including towels, shower gel, shampoo, cleaning products, and fully stocked cupboards with glassware and kitchenware. The tea and coffee provided were a lovely touch. The fridge freezer is on the smaller side, so I’d avoid buying too many fresh items if staying for a few days. There was also an ironing board, clothes airer, and lots of thoughtful storage throughout. The top bedroom was especially light and bright, and the space had been used really well. A helpful tip for future guests: the lockbox at the entrance gives access to the stairwell, and there’s a slow-release light switch on the left, which took us a moment to find. You then leave the key in the lockbox for the other apartment and use a code to access your room. There was also a single bed in the living room, which was useful. It was a little noisy at times because the apartment is on a main road, but that’s to be expected with such a central location. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay — it felt like a stylish boutique apartment, and we thought it was very reasonably priced. Thank you for hosting us.

Amazing facilities. It was steep steps to the apartment… you open the door and… WOW! Worth the climb! Comfortable beds and everything you need to have a home from home break. Beautifully decorated. We loved it!

As my daughter has a disability, the stairs were healed for her, but the owners let us use the cupboards at the bottom to store the collapsible wheelchair. She was very accommodating and helpful. It’s not a dislike regarding the stairs- just a challenge for us in particular. But it was worth it as the apartment was fabulous- we didn’t want to leave!

The location was excellent. The check in details were easy and prompt. The standard of the interior was excellent

The mattresses were rock hard and not comfortable The fridge was small and hard to get into with it being inside the under stairs cupboard. The fridge door should match the opening direction of the cupboard door. Didn’t appreciate the vetting and deposit system

Great location, very clean and welcoming apartment. A perfect spot for a weekend trip to York.

It is in a great location near the shops, pubs and restaurants, so ideal for people who don't drive as the supermarket is about 20-minute walk away from the apartment.

There is nothing I didn't like about the apartment.
