"It was OK."

7.0

The breakfast was very good to excellent and the cook/server was very friendly.

The rooms could have been cleaner. There was some dust on the floor and furniture. Our first night was in room number one. It has a private bathroom but on the first floor. The rooms are all second floor and there were 23 steps up to the room. So unless you like to walk stairs don't stay in room number one. The owner did move us once we informed him this was not something we could handle. He was able to move us to another room.

"Loved the Old House and my Big Charming room, BUT sadly , did Not like my Dirty toilet."

7.0

LOVE the charming Old House with History! It’s beautiful ! And my room was accommodating. And, the price Was the Best All around !

The downstairs is pretty much just for weddings and/or receptions. Would have liked a Living Room setting of some kind. If you check in “late”, not comfortable with leaving my room keys Outside plainly with my name on it plainly. The front door ( understandably old ) was Hard to get into and no one to help Unless I called. Attendant Was there. Like most B&B’s … sensitive walls & doors. Must be quiet… can’t hear TV. The Only breakfast time , caused me to Not be Able to have breakfast … so I Misses out on that. But, most importantly ( next to keys outside ) … the toilet in my room was Very Dirty. And , the shower Needs the mildew scrubbed out of All it’s cracks.

"Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful town."

10.0

I loved the property. The house was beautiful! It was built in the mid 1800’s and could use a little work but overall, the accommodations were great! The breakfast was phenomenal! I loved the food and the hospitality from Taylor (the innkeeper). I would have preferred a more private setting, maybe individual tables instead of the main dining table for breakfast, but overall it was amazing. I really loved the Pepin suite with the high ceilings and very ornate furniture.

I stayed in one of the four rooms that didn’t have an attached bathroom. I knew this going in, so wasn’t a big deal. I would have liked a little more privacy with an attached bathroom because it was a bit of a headache to have to get dressed and go downstairs each time I needed to use the restroom. I also noticed that the property needed a few repairs including the ceiling above the reception area and also the painting/wallpaper in the private bath. But those details are expected from a historic building. I would definitely stay here again (but in a room with an attached bath). I would also recommend a more private dining space. It was a little awkward to share a big table with people I’ve never met. While we had great conversation, I experienced a bit of anxiety being in a small town as an LGBT couple. My worries were rested once I realized all the other folks were accepting and friendly. Maybe have breakfast in the larger room with individual tables, I think that would have relaxed my “breakfast anxiety”. All in all, it was an amazing visit.
