Sala Siem Reap & Spa

I really loved this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to help us with organising tours and transfers, they greeted us by name, they brought us cold towels on every return from our travels (which was very welcome as it is HOT here in May). The room was light and spacious with a view over the pool. The pool area is lovely and quiet as the hotel is situated 15 minutes walk out of the noise of the town, opposite the museum and on the way to the temples. As the hotel was very quiet (we were here off season) they made us breakfast to order, which was fresh and good quality.

This was not an issue for us, as we like the quiet and the hotel was a peaceful place, however it is 15 minutes to walk into 'town'. Having said that, you can take a tuk tuk (they are abundant) for less than £1 to take you into the centre of things, which we did without trouble.

Great location and within walking distance of several restaurants and sights.

It would have been nice if the ppl had been a little more cool so that it would be more refreshing from the heat.

We had an amazing stay at Sala Siem Reap. The hotel is very nice and well kept. The pool area is fantastic and very well organised. But what made really the difference is the staff of the hotel. Beautiful people, professional, welcoming, always smiling and ready to help and assist us with anything. From the housekeeping team who did an amazing job every single day, to the restaurant and bar staff who provided delicious meals and impeccable service, to the front desk team with particular mention to NaNa, Til Til and Sina, who provided a fantastic customer service, assisted us in organising our days and made us feel welcome since we first stepped into the hotel. Big thank you to the whole staff of Sala Siem Reap Hotel, you guys made our holiday more enjoyable and memorable. We highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay in Cambodia and we hope to have the opportunity to come back one day.

Breakfast had limited options

Das Sala Siem Reap Hotel hat mich ehrlich gesagt ein bisschen überrascht. Im besten Sinne. Es ist eines dieser Hotels, die nicht laut „Luxus“ schreien müssen, sondern einfach funktionieren. Und genau das macht es zu einer verdammt guten Basis für alles, was man in Siem Reap so vorhat. Das Personal hat eine fast unheimliche Fähigkeit, Bedürfnisse zu erkennen, bevor man selbst auf die Idee kommt. Nach einem Tag zwischen Tempeln, Hitze und Staub wird man empfangen, als wäre man gerade von einer kleinen Expedition zurückgekehrt. Und dann kommt dieses Detail, das ich irgendwann regelrecht erwartet habe: ein kühles, feuchtes Tuch mit einem Hauch Zitrus. Klingt banal, fühlt sich aber an wie ein Reset-Knopf für Körper und Laune. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel, sauber und so gestaltet, dass man sich hier nicht wie eine durchgereichte Buchungsnummer fühlt. Gerade für ein eher traditionelles Haus haben mich Größe und Ausstattung positiv überrascht. Alles wirkt angenehm durchdacht, ohne geschniegelt zu sein, und genau das macht den Aufenthalt sympathisch. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Bett, denn eine vernünftige Matratze ist auf Reisen manchmal schon ein halber Urlaub. Hier durfte mein ein europäischer Rücken einmal durchatmen, statt morgens mit stillen Vorwürfen aufzuwachen. Die Poollandschaft des Hotels liegt angenehm nach hinten versetzt in einem schön abgegrenzten Gartenbereich. Genau das macht diesen Ort so entspannt, denn man hat nicht das Gefühl, mitten im Trubel zu liegen, sondern eher in einem kleinen Rückzugsort, den das Hotel sich erfreulicherweise nicht mit Betonfantasie ruiniert hat.

Das WLAN könnte besser sein

Room was great with full facilities and services as expected. Restaurant served great breakfast and cocktail service and waiter were excellent(Five star from me). Nice pool but a little hot for the Siem Reap climate. Well located to museums and Pub street restaurants and pubs
