W15 Lake Gregory

Absolutely one of the most heavenly places I stayed in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect, and you can walk around the lake and also get your meals served on the gardens overlooking it. The staff were wonderful, and the food was amazing! Wish I had stayed longer.

Nothing I didn’t like! Only comment would be a fan in the bathroom would be good. As someone who likes a hot shower it gets very steamy and the only way to get air in is to open the window but that means people can see in!

There is a lot of noise that gets in from a party in the town and the army headquarters next door.

Old world Style and comfort in a beautiful setting. The services was impeccable.

Exceptional service above everything else. I had some special requests for my 1 year old and they were so attentive to check with me even before my arrival. Jim, Raj and rest of the staff were very professional and helpful and we felt like we are home and not in a hotel. Food was amazing and loved the hotel too! Such a perfect stay and we will definitely come again.

Beautiful stay at a historic building. Immaculately oresented and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, very attentive and thoughtful including a birthday cake for me and arranging our transport and a delicious breakfast for us and even our tuk tuk driver at 6am. Would highly recommend.

Wow, what a nice spot to spend an afternoon and evening. Great for a little getaway. From the moment we arrived we felt like special guests. We had a lovely walk around Lake Gregory (cut through the mariner restaurant in front) and enjoyed the selection of fresh tea leaf pot of tea in the room as well as the lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the pool was very nice to spend the afternoon in. Dinner was nice and the meals were reasonable priced. Breakfast out the front was a great way to start the morning. They organised a transfer to Nano Oya for us for a reasonabke amount. This was our best stay in Sri Lanka but also the most we spent, so this was also expected.

The curry at dinner could have more flavour and they really needed some background music in the dining room, it's was very starkly echoey. We were initially double charged, but they did refund the second amount after about 10 days. The military base and temple behind the property were very noisy in the morning so don't expect a sleep in. I had to hang a sarong over the door to try and block the light, they need a blind.
