There was good heating and hot water

It was like a poor student house that had been furnished by visiting local charity shops and had been recently cleaned because someone’s parents were visiting. Each room was depressingly tatty with something in it slightly broken or cracked. When I alerted the host to damage I was to,d they were aware of the condition of the property. No coffee left for the first morning as promised. I thought the bedrooom window didn’t close because of the tree growing through it but no. After removing the branches I realized that the window just wouldn’t close. Ditto the kitchen window. Dangling strips of wallpaper and sellotape hung from the walls in the dining room. The upstairs bathroom was close to clean, if you didn’t count the inch long smear of someone else’s toothpaste on the back of the bathroom door. I needed to use the washing machine as my toddler granddaughter had an accident in her cot (our cot and our bedding) but the washing machine leaked all over the kitchen floor.

The house was spacious and in the perfect location for us. 5 adults and a dog.

The house could be stunning but needs some tlc. There is no drop kerb for the off street parking. The garden would be much nicer with real grass. The large double bed is very soft and the furniture needs some repairs. The smaller double bedroom has the boiler in it which would look better if it was boxed in. There is a carbon monoxide detector though.
