Rock side inn - Ella

The views from our balcony to Ella Rock were fabulous. Breakfasts were very good and the staff were friendly.

Very different to get to the property. Impossible for the car to get there .

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the owner - or the manager? - was really ready to support us, giving tips and various info on what to do around Ella. The room was spacious and comfortable, special mention for the bed (so big and comfy!) and the shower (great pressure of the water, hot water always available). Good diversified breakfast. The view was very nice, both from the restaurant and our balcony. The location more in general is perfect, a few minutes walk from the main road with all the restaurants and bars, but still in a quiet surroundings with amazing nature.

The wifi was available only in the common area and our internet connection was quite unstable in the room, since we needed to work it was a problem for us. I would recommend more comfortable chairs for the balcony. In ours we only had 2 plastic chair and I would have really loved a sunbed or armchair to make more use of the space!

View from the balcony is beautiful. The staff was absolutely great - they helped us a lot with everything including very early tuk tuks and early breakfast with vegeterian options. The restaurant zone is very nice with a beautiful view on the mountain. There is also a chance you will see some animals like mongoose, monkeys and even porcupine!

Room is pretty similar to other rooms in Sri-Lanka. There was a mold on the ceiling and it was quite chilly in the room. The location isn't very comfortable because after the heavy rain the road is tough so you can't reach the hotel by car - only be feet or tuk tuks. The water in the shower was warm, but not hot.

Loved the location and the hotel! Manju went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The price was excellent for the room and location. The view was one of the best in Ella. It was a last minute booking and we were very glad it was available.

As with the majority of hotels in Sri Lanka it is hard to keep the linens smelling fresh. Bed and room was comfortable but would have been a lot better with fresh smelling linen

The staff were exceptional. Manju and his employees were so kind, thoughtful and helpful at every turn. Manju connected us with a private car on a last minute decision to go to Tissa. The price he quoted was below everywhere else we found online and in Town. We loved our stay at Rock Side Inn, and would return next time in Ella! Gorgeous views from the room, comfortable, great breakfast, and exceptional staff.

Wifi didn’t quite reach the room, but data is so cheap in Sri Lanka it doesn’t really matter.
