I loved that it was within walking distance of Howard. I felt so much at home and rested. The bed was excellent! I absorbed every moment there! I loved Jenna's hospitality. The gas fireplace was impressive! When I locked my phone in the apartment, she was so accommodating! I loved that I had fellow alumni over for talks, and it was right around the corner from Hook Hall, where I was headed to for a homecoming gathering. Loved the walking area

The stairs to the apartment were narrow. I would have liked a wider staircase, but the apartment made up for that in so many ways! There is nothing else negative to say.

Jenna was fabulous, sorting out a mix-up with my booking. I stayed in the main floor unit for the first couple of nights before moving to the basement unit I had originally booked for my stay. That being said, I can comment on both units! If visiting DC with other family members I would definitely book that 3 bedroom main floor unit! The basement unit was fine for me on my own, and would also be fine as a couple, and even with a 3rd person on the sofabed and a toddler in a folding crib they have in the unit. The main floor unit is more shiny and new, the basement unit has somewhat older appliances and fixtures, but all-in-all, the units are clean clean clean, a really good size, and both have laundry built in. The location is great. Multiple choices of one-busline trips into the city. Metro is also nearby, I'm not sure which line as I used the buses, but it is walkable to the Metro as well. Really great restaurants, shopping mall, and grocery stores nearby. Historic Columbia Heights area, people are friendly and helpful. Oh both units have great lighting, especially the funky hanging lights over the kitchen island in the basement unit. Nearby Sacred Heart Shrine is beautiful and vibrant within the community, where I was delighted to find a French devotional group and Spanish Mass the evening I visited there.

El aire acondicionado. Cuando llegamos, hacía mucho frío. De tres noches, dos pasamos frío. No estaba el termostato en el alojamiento por lo que no lo podíamos controlar. La encargada fue muy amable e intentó que estuviéramos confortables. Se oferta para 5 personas y no está preparado para ellas: falta ajuar de cama y vajilla. De 5 plazas, sólo 2 eran cama. El resto eras sofás- cama muy incómodas.

The house was perfect. It had everything we needed and Jenna was a wonderful, kind, helpful host. Great location, easy to get the Metro and deliveries. I would highly recommend this house to a group or family.

The location is convenient for amenities (coffee shops, groceries) and public transit, with a nice walk to Howard Univ. campus. The host is very kind, welcoming, professional, and responsive. The apartment was comfortable with everything you'd need for basic stuff including meal prep and doing laundry. There was an abundance of extra towels and sheets, toilet paper, and toilettries (soap, shampoo, conditioner). The kurig coffee maker with pods was really helpful! The bedroom was very comfy. There's a police precinct a few doors down, and police vehicles along the street, which reinforces the feeling of safety and security. The neighbourhood is pretty.

The stairway into the basement unit is narrow and a bit tricky (not for those with mobility issues, or after several beers!) so just be mindful. When no one is staying above, the basement unit is super-quiet but as soon as there are guests, they're audible, when they're on the main floor especially as a bedroom seems to be directly above the basement unit bedroom. The heating/temp can't be controlled from the basement unit but the host is super-responsive and adjusts accordingly; there's also a handy space heater. This is minor, but a more effective wine bottle opener would be handy.
