Chilton View - 4 Bed 2 Bath Luxury Home in County Durham

Its a lovely house & had everything we needed. Beds were all very comfortable, we all slept well. It was ideal for us as a base for discovering the area. Would definitely book to stay there again.

Nothing to not like. Could do with a brush for sweeping up crumbs.

We loved the space, the garden and games room. I particularly liked the doors which opened fully onto the decking. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather and took advantage of being able to have the kitchen completely open to the outside. We really appreciated that it was so easy to contact the owner. They responded to any requests immediately. The bedroom beds were really comfortable. It was really easy to get to the A1 and only 15 mins from Bishop Auckland (we stayed here because we had tickets for Kynren). It was also very close to Locomotion at Shildon.

We tried out the sofa bed and it really wasn't so comfortable. Pool cues not great and no chalk .

The owner was very helpful and reactive. The house was spacious. The garden was nice. It was quiet.

Out of the 4 bedrooms, only 1 had a comfortable mattress. Only one bathroom was usable as the water pressure in the other one was low. The house is on a quiet estate, but the town didn't feel safe at all, certainly for foreigners. The drive to Durham was longer than I had expected. The kitchen was not well equipped: no coffee machine, no tea pot, only salt provided.

We were really happy with the cleanliness of the property and the facilities available. The property was a good size, perfect location for our plans. Very close to a bus stop to Durham. Very quiet at night, in a safe and friendly neighbourhood. Close to Sedgefield which has some lovely pubs /restaurants. We went to the races at Sedgefield too, a short taxi ride away. Perfect enclosed garden for our dog. The bedrooms were super comfy, and we slept very well. We didn’t use the weights /pool room as we spent a lot of time out and about, but it’s a great idea if you’ve teenage kids to keep them occupied. We had a problem with the hive heating control and the landlord was super responsive and called in on Christmas Day morning to help.

We went for the Christmas break and cooked a Christmas dinner at the property, the crockery was limited we were unable to use the facilities of the smart tv. Despite there being instructions it didn’t work. We were able to watch the standard tv and additional freebies channels though. The landlord CK was super responsive and I have no doubt whatsoever that he would have resolved everything if we had mentioned it, but it was the Christmas’s break and we didn’t want to trouble him and it wasn’t a big deal.
