T´úubul K´iin Bed & Breakfast

Alejandra is super friendly and helpful! The room was quite spacious and clean too. The bed was comfortable. Although not super centrally located, I had no issues walking where I needed to go in Merida.

The way the house is built allows for noise to travel easily. I could hear banging doors from other bedrooms downstairs constanly and that wasn't very nice. That, however, did not take away from the overall experience.

15 minutes to walk to the center of the city. Simple and comfortable room. Very good shower. Very nice lady as host. Good breakfast. Street is very quiet.

Nothing

Staff is always with you on the contact remotely. Very quick response. Not so far from the city center.

Basement suit. Strong audibility of other guests. The whole place is a little bit "tired".

T'uubul K'iin checks all the boxes for me, at least in the room we stayed in (far back downstairs): fan and A/C, safe in room, private bathroom with hot water, free wi-fi, TV in room, included hot breakfast freshly made when you sit at the counter, free drinking water, plenty plugs for charging electronics, hair drier, even a hammock in addition to our bed! It is hard to find something better at this price. Alejandra is a wonderful host too!

Somethings that could be better or improved: the shower drain is slow so water pools if taking long showers (this is a common problem in Merida houses though), there is no cold breakfast such as cereal and milk (we told Alejandra about this so she might add them as an option), there is no refrigerator for guests, if air conditioning is set too low then condensation drops drop from the air conditioning unit (so don"t set temperature too low), the wifi drops when past the kitchen area on your way out. In short, in my opinion, everything is basic but one gets many amenities. And Alejandra's hot breakfast is great!

Breakfast

The person who really makes this place work is Alejandra. She makes breakfast with love! She is a very interesting person who treats everyone with respect and kindness. The room we were in was comfortable. The bathroom is dated but functional. The cost of the room which includes breakfast is phenomenal.

The bnb is an older style place. It reminds me of a Mom and Pop motel of the 1950's. We stayed three nights and that was plenty.

Despite the terrible experience, I have to say that Alejandra was incredibly kind and helpful. She and the owner of the property both did their best to help us change accommodation. She's also a great cook, the breakfast she made for us was really delicious.

Our room was infested with small cockroaches. We killed around 30 of them, bus since there's a gap under the door, they kept coming and coming. I didn't sleep at all, since they were also running around on our beds. It was a truly horrible night, so the next morning we had to find another place to stay. Also, the room was generally not clean. The mirrors and windows were full of stains, there were coins and dust under the beds, leftover bits of soap from previous guests in the shower, and one of our towels was torn. I hope in the future they will pay strict attention to cleanliness and get proper doors with no gap under, because like that it would be a lovely place to stay.
