We had breakfast without possibility to choose food. If you eat everything if wouldn’t be a problem, but if you are vegetarian or something else it will be hard, because you never know what would you receive for breakfast

The room was exactly as in the pictures. Bed mattress was firm, but comfortable with four pillows of different sizes to choose from. Bed linens and towels were perfectly clean and fresh. Our room had an excellent selection of furniture - enough to store our things in a comfortable way including wardrobe with hangers, shelves, a good size desk and a chair - many thanks for the thoughtful arrangement! Breakfast was filling and prepared fresh every morning for each guest. We were fortunate with our neighbors, they were quiet and respectful in the evening hours, so we had no problem at all with any noise. Drinking water dispenser was available downstairs (for free) - thank you very much to the management for saving the planet from plastic. My communication with the manager Alberto was very efficient - he was always polite and helpful. Really appreciate the fact that the management tries to keep this hostel at the budget rates, and overall this place is an excellent value for independent travelers.

The electric water pump was coming on and off frequently (sometimes every few minutes) so the buzzing noise was uncomfortable, especially in the evening hours. This is not hotel's fault, this is a typical arrangement in many places in Mexico - however, it changed the tranquility of the room. Starting at 7 a.m. when people went to have breakfast downstairs, the sleeping hours were over - acoustics in the building is such that all the conversations downstairs or phone ringing or closing doors created loud noises all the way to the upstairs rooms. Last 2 days the hot water in our bathroom suddenly disappeared. At the beginning internet was very good, however last 3 days the internet was cutting out frequently. Also, the fan blades in the room are hanging quite low - be careful when changing clothes and raising your arms to make sure to avoid unnecessary injury. Overall, however, this budget place is a very acceptable choice for Merida.

Very kind staff, who cooked us breakfast everyday and was ready to help guests out. She called a taxi for me to the airport when I was leaving. The location was also quite good - maybe a 10-15min walk from the center area. The room is fairly large and has a desk, which I needed for working.

Insects - the room I stayed in had sooo many cockroaches and ants in it!! :-o Large cockroaches as well as tiny baby ones. One night I saw about 10 cockroaches. After I noticed one on my first night there, I kept my suitcases fully zipped up during my entire stay, only opening them for quick moments. When I packed up my bathroom bag, I noticed perhaps about 30 ants in my toiletries bag. I also saw a few mosquitos and got a few bites while staying there, but the cockroaches bothered me more. The balcony is shared with another room, which I had not realized prior to arrival, and faces the street.

It can feel basic but for the price it was really good value.

The caretaker was absolutely lovely and cheerful and cooked a good breakfast in the mornings. The location is close enough to the center to walk.

While the room was cleaned well and the bedsheets and towels were fresh, our room was overdue for some serious maintenance. We stayed in room 2 on the ground floor, which had a serious humidity problem. Especially the bathroom was bad, with walls covered in mold and a very bad smell. Drains were also clogged. To be honest, this room should not be rented in this condition and the owner should invest in some proper repairs, not just painting over the mold as is being done now.

the breakfast is amazing. Alejandra is an absolute angelic mum, treat us too well.

the noises cancellation is pretty bad, but it's still quiet at late night.
