和光荘 Harmonious Light West

Beautiful house in a peaceful surrounding. Very comfortable for staying near Gora station. Just a 3-5 minute walk from the station. Check in was easy through a door code shared well in advance. Very modern and newly renovated house with all amenities. Departmental store for daily needs was about 10 minutes walk and was very convenient. Views from small balcony and living room were very nice. Communication with the host was prompt and easy. Will surely recommend.

No Curtains/ blinds in the rooms made it impossible to sleep after sunrise which happened around 4:30 in the morning. Even at night the street lights from outside was very bright and we had a hard time getting to sleep without eye masks. Rules and regulations shared by the host after making the payment felt more like a warning.

Great location, very clean, cozy and new. I wish we could have stayed another night!

Everything was great. It was possibly the most expensive accomodation out of our entire vacation, but still think it was good value.

Fully equipped kitchen but need to bring own food since there is no grocery store in town.

Street lights shine directly into bedrooms. Also lots of natural light from sunrise at 5am. Rooms have nothing to block light. Wife didn’t sleep and booked herself a hotel for second night and left me with the kids. With one double, one twin and two futons it’s not overly comfortable for a western family.

Clean, washing machine (although nowhere to hang clothes). Toilet seat opens automatically.

Credit card was used for fraudulent transactions shortly after booking (probably coincident). Then refused payment through booking.com with new card. Threatened to cancel booking unless payment through external link. Didn’t pick up the phone. New credit card was then used for fraudulent transactions shortly after stay (weird to have this happen twice).

Nice, spacious and comfortable home. Very clean and quiet. In walking distance from the train station. Easy to check in with the keypad.

There were no curtains, so a lot of light came in the morning (luckily we were getting up early so it wasn't a big issue for us). It was raining when we arrived and it would have been nice if there had been some umbrellas that we could have used to walk to dinner.

Blinds in the bedrooms would make the stay far more comfortable. Pre-check in info was A LOT. Would be easier to have this simplified to just the essential info. No clothes dryer.

Fantastic location, Incredible views, Tons of space, very comfy beds, easy check in, very very clean, nice to have separate room for our children, great kitchen with everything you need, cool projector screen to watch tv, close to lots of restaurants and hiking trails. 5 min walk to Gora station. A lot of people mentioned there were no curtains or blinds so it was very bright but this didn’t bother us at all. We wore black eye masks when needed to sleep longer. Make sure you make dinner reservations as soon as you arrive. We had a hard time finding somewhere to eat on the first night.

The bath took a few tries to fill up. It would turn on and off so we had to press the power on and off a lot to get it filled. The house was freezing when we arrived but quickly warmed up after adjusting heating in each of the rooms. Google translate is your friend to figure out all of the remote controls here! We loved the house so much we decided to extend our stay so we asked the host and at first they said it was available so we moved our next hotel by a day and then the host wrote us back and said it wasn’t available so we had to last minute find another place in the area. It was unfortunate that they made a mistake with their availability. Thankfully it is the off season and we found something.
