The Rose501: 5th floor Apartment with Rooftop Pool

My favourite thing was the views. It is gorgeous. The room itself was very comfortable and neat. I didn’t like the placement of the cofffee table. It’s in the way and I kept bumping on it 😅. Other that that it was a good space and in a good location close to many amenities.

My stay at 501 The Rose by Perchstay was stressful and uncomfortable. This place has potential but the management/host is a total let down. Here are some of the major issues: 1. False advertising: free shuttle, toiletries. They only tell you there is no free shuttle once you have booked. They give you the run around to get basic amenities, like toilet paper, fresh towels. 2. There is a storage room, but they will not assist with luggage drop off, which is a big inconvenience if your flight arrives early or departs late. 3. The main door to the room doesn’t close properly, it is a security risk. One has to make sure it is pushed it properly. 4. The bed is soft and uncomfortable. The pillows are so thin, that I had neck pain while sleeping there. When I asked for an extra pillow, they refused to assist. 5. I got bitten multiple times, while I was sleeping, I’m not sure what it was, but it was definitely not mosquitoes. 6. The staff on the ground is friendly, but the person who manages the unit on booking.com has no system in place to assist guests and is actually clueless how things work in the building. As a result basic amenities are not supplied and you cannot get any form of assistance. 7. As many have mentioned, the table is too big, you knock your toes on the legs. 8. The desk doesn’t have a comfortable chair, so it is not suitable as a work desk. 9. The pots supplied are of poor quality, so the induction is not strong enough to get water to boil, which is important for things like pasta. 10. The bathroom door and the shower door is awkwardly close, you can only swing one at a time. We really hope that the owner of this place understands the negative impact that the rental agent is having on his business.

Smaller than I expected, I’d recommend a smaller coffee table, the current one takes up all the space in an already small room.

The receptionist was friendly

Check in did not go well. We booked a room on the 5th floor which was priced higher than rooms on lower floors. When it was time to check in they had double booked the room and we had to settle for a room on a lower floor. It’s been almost a week after reporting this to management and requesting that they correct the fee issue. I feel I’m getting the run around… We had wanted to watch to go the rooftop for the NYE countdown, it was locked. Their Netflix account was signed into too many devices so we had to use our own details to stream. The towels were not refreshed on time. I have what I initially assumed were mosquito bites, now looking like this could be bed bug bites.

Such a beautiful apartment! Loved all of it and the location was perfect. Will definitely be back! 💕
