A fantastic place above lake Taupo, which provided excellent value for money and was a true highlight of our travels. The flat was self-contained, private, and peaceful. We were treated with kindness and lovely breakfast items. But the best of all was the view!!

I cannot think of anything that could be improved.

Views over the lake were stunning, idyllic setting and a lovely property. Excellent hosting as well Cheryl and Darren couldn't be more accommodating!

Nothing - had a great time!

The view from the unit is excellent and there's a great deal of attention to detail which makes it special. We enjoyed a fine continental breakfast. Cheryl even catered for my daughter's vegan taste. We loved the hands-off but yet easy contact with hosts Darren and Cheryl.

The "lounge" area is part of the main bedroom, from where the view is best, but somewhat limiting in terms of access for all at all times. But it did not detract from an otherwise very enjoyable weekend.

We arrived in the evening to The Nest and it was so easy to check in and get settled. The place was way bigger than we anticipated and wow what a view. At night we could see the whole Lake Taupo illuminated by the moon and during the day it was lovely to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise. The location was great to get around the area and such a comfy and lovely stay while we explored Rotorua, Taupo, and the surrounding area.

The location, the setting, the value for money, super helpful hosts, the cleanliness, the view, the layout… I don’t think that there was anything that we didn’t like.

A magical spot perched on the hillside looking south down the lake. Spectacular in all weather! Creative decor with every attention to detail to ensure a comfortable stay. A generous supply of a variety of breakfast supplies. Friendly and respectful hosts. Would love to return another time!

Great view and spacious facility.

Would have been nice to have an oven or toaster oven.
