Motel 6 Effingham, IL

In person staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. The heat in the room was adjustable and we were warm on a cold night.

The staff at the facility was friendly but we booked a room with a kitchenette and the one we received did not have one. There was an online person on a kiosk that took over communications and did not resolve the issue. . The kiosk communication was not helpful and the kiosk recorded us and videoed us the whole while. (The staff person said the kiosks are manned from India). We did not like the kiosk assistance nor the videotaping of our interactions from remote locations. As for the room, there was no kitchenette as advertised. Apparently, none of the rooms have kitchenette with stove tops as advertised on Booking.com. There was dust/dirt around the edges of the room and on top of surfaces like refrigerator. Some of the towels were new but some were worn and grayed. There were what looked like cigarette holes on the bedding in our non-smoking room.

Overall, not a bad experience for just one night. I have never had any issues with checking in, they always found my reservation, and checked without delay, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Not to bad price wise, you do get what you paid for, but for just being one night, it wasn't too bad.

I was charged twice for the room. Somehow there was a glitch and my prepaid bill wasn’t visible to the night clerk, so I paid AGAIN. It’s being corrected this morning.

Nice decent little rooms... Mine was very clean and had one of the best refrigerators I've ever seen in a hotel/motel ever.

The one BIG thing that upset me about this room, was the lack of a coffee maker and coffee accessories.
