Motel 6 Effingham, IL

All I needed was a clean place to sleep for the night while traveling. I was exhausted from a long day of driving and the room met all essential needs. If you don’t need all the fluff, this is a great place to stay and rest your body. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good location and the bed was fairly comfortable.

The room smelled of cigarette smoke bad and the laminate floors were absolutely filthy. The bathroom was also old and a bit dirty.

How clean it was!

I was on the 2nd floor... but I had arrived early. So they was just cleaning the first floor. I have copd. But as nice as my room was I would take the steps again LOL

Location off of I-70

Checking in with a kiosk instead of a person. First room I was given had no sheets on the bed and trash in the room. 2nd room was better.

You can drive and park right at your room. Big refrigerator and a microwave in the room.

Not much! We liked everything about it.

I loved the kiosk experience. It was basically a virtual video call talking to the front desk person. They got an alert when I walked in which was fast and the person on video call was really nice and polite.

The room was dirty and looked like it was hardly cleaned. There was what appeared to be a used wash cloth on top of the shower curtain and a used bar of soap still in the shower. The sink did not look like it was cleaned. The end table looked like someone spilled juice or soda and it was sticky and never cleaned. There were people, what sounded like a child, early in the morning around 5-6am yelling from in front of our room. Footsteps outside of the room were easy to hear and dogs were barking from the room under ours.

Exceptional motel 6 Big frig and microwave. Next to an excellent steakhouse with great ribs. Quiet. Very good bed.

If the room were to have a chair it would be perfect.
