Rise & Set Arugam bay

Wow! It's one of the best dorm beds I've ever stayed in. Air conditioning, a very modern bathroom with hot water, and the lagoon view from the rooftop is amazing—with elephants swimming and playing! It's also in the best spot, connecting the local and tourist areas. Nearby restaurants are much more affordable than the tourist restaurants. Thank you so much! I've decided to stay longer.

By far the best place to stay in Arugam Bay! The owner is so kind and helpful. I had a whole dorm to myself. Showers are very nice and hot water!! Only a 15 min walk into town and it’s a beautiful walk so don’t let that deter you from staying here. Breakfast was great as well!!

it’s alright and comfortable for the price I paid for three days

service was bad, and there were no blankets, less pillows, no toilet paper and there was no hot water. We didn’t have water for the first 5 or 4 hours after checking in, and they switched off electricity too for my room so we had no electricity for a whole day only the AC was working, but overall it was good for the price I paid for three days so I guess it was alright.

No wifi provided, and your sim card won't work here, it is too far from town to get signal. It is a far walk from restaurants, and grocery stores. No one is staying there just you since there is no wifi and the location is bad, plus there is only male staff so if something were to happen, you'd have no way to contact emergency help. The staff told me upon arrival that the owner disconnects the internet during the slow season. When I spoke with the owner on the phone he wanted me to confirm I'm only staying one night, I confirmed that, and he said the hotel had the internet down "temporarily". He said he'd refund me my money and cancel the reservation himself on Booking.com since there was no wifi provided and it was temporarily down but later on when I sent a request for refund he refused and said I never showed up to the property. Do not stay here. It is unsafe, the owner is a liar, and there is no wifi.

Beautiful big rooms. Fantastic surrounding and amazing view out over the lagoon. Perfect spot for surfers to be in the middle of the surf breaks. Hot running water.

Unfortunately the “receptionist” didnt speak any english and tried to charge the day rate. Had to explain about booking.com and exchange the price for him.
