The Bridge Apartments, Unit 34

The location is good and close to shops and restaurants. The 2nd bathroom has a huge double shower. We really enjoyed it. We also like the fact that there is a single braai right in front of the flat. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The grounds are well maintained. The flat has all the necessary amenities as well and lovely decor.

We couldn't use the main bedrooms shower, as the shower door could not open. Upon inspection you could clearly see that they tried to fix it in a very poor manner. It needs replacing. The 2nd bathrooms toilet seat is also broken and slides and pinches when you sit on it. We spoke to the cleaning lady and she told us that they are aware of this problem, so shocking that they then still request a breakage deposit. The TV also keeps switching off by itself and there is no wifi. The air cons needs a service and cleaning as they freeze up and make a terrible noise during the night, so you have to switch it off and rely on just the fan. The beds are comfortable but the sheets are old and stained. Bring your own towels, as these are also very old and stained. Water pressure can be poor at times. Although not a huge problem but can be irritating when it rains , is the fact that the parking bay is not right by the flat so you have to walk in the rain to your car parked at the other end of the parking lot. I feel they should also make future visitors aware of the fact that although you walk out on ground level from the lounge area, you still have to climb two levels of steps to get to the entrance of the flat. Over priced for what you get unfortunately and won't be returning or recommend to friends and family.

We were required to pay a damage deposit a week before our date of stay. I stayed with my elderly parents for 2 nights only and we most definitely did not cause any damage. One month later, we are still awaiting the return of our deposit. When calling, they just say that they will make effort to resolve, or that the payment has been made, but no resolution is forthcoming and no clear answer can be given. It is impossible to reach the person who is in charge of this. Do NOT stay at this property is you don't want to pay extra for no reason!!

They demanded a R1000 breakage deposit 7 days before occupation which will be refunded 7 days after departure I It is been 3 months and still struggling to get my money back

Lovely decorated unit in private(ish) and quiet(ish - depending on neighbours) part of complex. Furniture nice and comfortable. Nice shower, two bathrooms, both with showers (but no bath). Aircons and fans in all rooms. Dishwasher in kitchen. This is a ground floor unit, but there is a flight of stairs to unit from parking bay, which was fine for us but might be a deciding factor for others. Lovely view and braai in front of unit, but others can come and use that braai and we found neighbours could be quite loud and rowdy but that depends I suppose on who is renting next door or upstairs to you. We found the weekdays lovely and peaceful and private but weekends (especially public holiday weekend) not as pleasant. Loved that it was in main street of town so walking distance to restaurants and shops, but you still felt like you were in the middle of nature and not a main street. Security guards at gate very friendly and helpful. Despite the few niggly issues mentioned, that can be easily remedied, I think this could be an absolutely lovely stay and I would stay here again if in the area (absolutely loved St Lucia and surrounds) but would not go during any peak periods because we like a quiet peaceful holiday.

Had a hiccup with the check in and could not check in at 2pm as arranged, but was sorted out and the lady was very apologetic and helpful and called us at around 2.30pm to say we could come back to check in, just wasnt a very good first impression. The unit was not perfectly clean on check in but they did offer to come in daily to clean for us. Smell in unit was not nice. The stairwells of complex were terrible and there was rubbish laying in the stairwells all week, if we didnt pick it up (some were unhygenic so we didnt want to touch it like dental picks and ear buds) it was never cleaned up and was still there when we checked out a week later (also dependent on what neighbours you have) but cleaning staff were very present within complex so I would have thought this would have been sweeped up. Main light in bedroom and one bedside light did not work. Not all kitchen cutlery or crockery had 6, but we mainly ate out, so didnt need more than that so fine with us. Linen in 3rd bedroom (2xsingle beds) was very nice, but the rest of the linen needs an upgrade, old bobbly sheets. The blinds in dining area are awfully dirty. This part of the complex is directly behind the Shoprite in town, so when there is loadshedding the generator at Shoprite which is behind the unit can be quite disturbing to the peaceful surroundings, mainly in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms but you dont notice it as much if neighbours are making a racket!
