The property was cosy and comfortable

The car parking space is actually in a bus lay-by. We were not notified that the tv did not work. The decking at the back was a slip hazard. Post addressed to the owner was visible, light bulbs needed replacing. Ivy growing through the window. Other accommodation have had small welcome packs, eg milk

Loved the cottage and it's location. Exceptionally clean, beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds. so quiet and overlooking spectacular countryside.

Struggled to watch the TV, instructions for ease of use would be useful to have.

The location.

I'm not one that normally complains or leaves a bad review. I blame myself for not reading the reviews from other guests. The old saying, "You get what you paid for fits well here. The location was great. From the outside, the cottage looked great. However, once you get into the cottage, it goes downhill. Not very clean dust and cobwebs everywhere, and as for the fridge, black mould (see photos), the bed linen was clean and fresh. At first, we were not going to stay. As we were only using the cottage for somewhere to sleep, we decided that we could put up with some dust and cobwebs. Being ex-military, I've stayed in the worst places for a longer length of time. The only real reason why we stayed was due to Covid, work, and family bereavement. We had not seen our friends for quite a few years. Would I stay here again or recommend it ? Most definitely not.

The location was perfect for visiting local attractions. Lots in the area only 30mins away.

The property does not have a back garden, only a very small yard area. The front garden was nice and secluded for sitting in the sun. However lots of the plants around the garden are weeds. The bins are kept in the front garden and had not been emptied, therefore you could smell the rotting food. All of the cooking equipment for the oven were very dirty looked like they had not been cleaned in a long while. The seating area looks nice in the lounge but it was very uncomfortable to sit on. The Tv in the living room does not work, they did tell us this once we had arrived! The hoover does not work and the carpets were hard to keep clean from the debris that is carried in from the front garden. The cleanliness of the property is not good at all. Lots of scuff marks on walls and dust everywhere. Looks like they have only cleaned what you first see. Kitchen cupboards dirty, splash marks on the bathroom wall near bin. Mattresses very old and made me very sore with the springs sticking in all over. No information pack at all, this would have helped to be able to put bins out on time. We did catch the recycling bin, however previous customers must have had the same issue with the bins as they had put the wrong items in, probably because the main bin was already full. Nowhere to park near the property only the bus stop. Neighbours knocked to complain that you should not park on the grass and this made me a little uncomfortable especially as having to park in the bus stop area! As others have stated there is a lot of personal items still in the property such as clothing and children’s toys, books etc. This property is not up to a standard for holiday rental. We were so disappointed as this was our main holiday this year. It stated to have nice views, however the weeds around the back of the property cover the windows! Also we were informed that the land at the rear is owned by a farmer and that is why it was not cut back.

It was abit dirty but we only stayed 1 night so was no problem

No fuss. Good communication from host. Inside the house is well kept. Value for money for family stay. Wifi available. House is clean and nice colours.

Height on the top floor needs more visible warning signs on both sides of the toilet/bathroom and the last room to the toilet. Attention (weeding) will add to the beauty of the house.

Quiet location, good pub in walking distance. Great value.

Slight leak from shower through into living room, drips on sofa.
