I stayed in the hut in the garden and it was ideal as walking the Cumbria Way. The hut was cosy, comfortable and clean. The location was also excellent close to lovely pub for food. The owners were brilliant, friendly and interesting and the breakfast was superb, can’t fault the place!

"Has to be the best place to stay in the lake district."

Portinscale was the perfect location for me, with grand hikes and quiet feel, close to cute Keswick. The stay was so lovely and homey and the views were amazing, plus the garden was so beautiful. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have stayed my whole Lake District holiday here and just commuted to the other places down south I wanted to go instead of staying in the south.

"Short but very sweet, we hope to return!"

Only one night en route between the south of England and Scotland, but a very good experience! The B&B was very comfortable, well presented and clean. The owners very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast delicious and tailored to individual taste, with the chance to meet other guests around the breakfast table. Parking available to the rear of the property. Walking distance to Keswick, although we did not have the chance to try.

Lack of desk space to work in the bedroom.

Breakfast was presented well and very fresh and tasty with a good choice Location for us was ideal

Bed mattress was to firm and not so comfortable Path entrance a little overgrown and loose stones on slope path not the easiest to walk on

The property is in a great location for access to many walks and Derwent Water. It is about a mile from Keswick which is an easy walk or drive. Caroline & Clive were very attentive hosts. Excellent breakfast, lovely tea & cakes. They are very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help & advise.. Our room was spacious, light and very clean.
