Seaton, Devon, two bed apartment, just off the sea front.

nice apartment ,very clean, had everything you needed

unfortunately bed a little small for us, used to king size but it was ok

It was lovely and clean and just what we needed.

The shower was difficult for my mother due to age and being in a bath. But that did not spoil the stay

Location was good and communication with the owner before my stay was excellent and helpful. Plenty of clean towels and the single bed was comfy, the double apparently just OK. The seating area was comfortable but the living area was rather small and cramped for 3, so probably very squashy for 4.

Alleyway to the flat was dirty and unkempt and the hallway dirty. The shower would only go to warm, not hot, the toilet roll holder was loose, the flush button on the toilet was half broken. Unable to get hot water for washing up or at the bathroom sink. There was no bottle opener in the kitchen!!! The frying pan was not flat on the bottom which we could have coped with on a gas hob but made cooking our omelettes very challenging. There was no pan scourer. The decour was generally a bit down at heel and the place looked unloved. I have stayed in quite a few Sykes cottages over the years and have always found them excellent - this was not up to the usual standard.

Ok poor entrance, behind a shop and up a fire escape then into a dirty smelly shared hallway, with a key box about knee hight. Once in I suppose it looked ok 1st glance but on closer inspection it was very poorly decorated, with the bath touched up with gloss paint, toilet seat loose and ill fitting curtains and drapes. We where informed on arrival that we only had £10 a day electric credit, if we wanted more we had to pay, Good job the weather was nice as its electric radiators and electric emersion heater. Nail bar downstairs unfortunately chose our weekend to do a shop refit and the flat next door also had the builders in, it went on until 11pm every day, not the hosts fault im sure but still not nice. could go on but I don't want to sound petty, not worth £500 for 3 days.

We would have preferred to pay a little more in the overall price rather than worrying about the gas meter and potential top ups

The service received from the property owners exceptionally quick and effective. The property's location, facilities and cleanliness was excellent. Parking is very close and free. I really can't say anything negative, even spoke to the residents of the building who were so friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay here again.

Approach to apartment entrance very dirty could do with a good clean and lick of paint. Did not make the start of our stay very welcoming. When we got up the stairs and opened the outside door it smelt unpleasant.
