The Rock House - Terrace Apartment - in Heart of the City

Location. Terrace. Friendly, responsive staff team.

Facilities didn’t match up to ‘luxe’ description / price. Lots of high quality soft furnishings, fancy wallpaper / paint, outsize hamper of alcohol and local treats but cracked and chipped ‘vintage’ bathroom fittings, leaky taps, on going broken toilet seat, bulbs gone in old lights in dark kitchen which couldn’t be replaced, mish mash of plates, cutlery, glasses etc. Second bedroom small and very dark. Curtained wardrobe but no bedside tables etc, sheets directly on mattresses. Marco and his team very responsive but some fundamental basics lacking.

A great location with parking not too far away, a perfect apartment for a family of four.. Walking to all the tourist spots was easy. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and stylish with the bonus of a private outside area. Very comfortable beds/linen...

A few little things could make this place superb... The kitchen sink tap was leaking and needed sorting, there was no plug for the sink.. More mirrors! Mirrors in the bedrooms would have been good as one small mirror in the bathroom is not practical when four people are staying! Hooks on doors, in the hallway would be useful for coats... The shower could do with a renovation; it was a little mouldy. Also, glass dispensers in the shower is a little dangerous! The main bedside lamps were very wobbly and some of the bulbs needed changing. All housekeeping stuff.. but they didn't stop us from having a fab time.

Super comfortable and amazing location, less than 5 mins walk from train station

The location was amazing and finding out about the history of the property was great. The host was really helpful and friendly when messaging via the app. The apartment was really characterful and was just what we wanted!

The only thing that would have been good was a couple of extra mirrors as the only one I found was over the bathroom sink... but that is a really minor thing!

absolutely darling property tucked just at the foot of Calton Hill. historic location right on Waterloo in easy jump on to city sight seeing bus.

Fabulous location, well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rock House and throughly recommend for a handy base for exploring the city.
