Mourne Air & BBQ Shack

Great location, perfect base for us. The house was clean, tidy, organised and had everything we needed. It was spacious and very comfortable. Parking in a dedicated driveway was great. Everything was extremely convenient and easy.

I don't normally like to give bad reviews. But this house is honestly in need of a deep clean and things fixed to a better standard. This property has the potential of something good if it was looked after better. On arrival I noticed that they garden was full of weeds and not taken care off at all. Given this is a place for families or couples to come away on a break to, it's not very inviting to see a garden that is covered in weeds. It is a pity as the wooden seated part is lovely. Also bin were completely packed and flies coming out everytime you opened the lid. Blinds could do with a fix up as they are dirty and broken in parts. Windows also very dirty. Headboards not attached properly on single beds, shelves hanging off double bedrooms wall. Mirrors in bathroom very high up, hard to see. On the second day my daughter noticed there was blood on her sheet which was very off putting. The board under kitchen cupboards cracked and not fitting. Washing machine door cracked. Very thin walls. Could hear everything between houses which kept us awake. Sensor lights in bathrooms would go off while using the bathroom and would be in the dark getting shower which was quiet anoying. Sensor lights in the bedrooms bathroom came on and off all night which also kept us awake. Bbq couldn't be used which was disappointing. Not a very pleasant smell in the place. We stuck it out as we were depending on a lift and couldn't leave. We spent most of our time in newcastle away from the house. This house could be great if it was taken care off better but it seems that little care is put into it. Light fittings covered in dust which all matters when a place is meant to be inviting. Felt very disappointed as I have stayed in many properties in newcastle and never been like this

The property had comfortable beds and the location was good a 10 min walk into the town centre.

It wasn’t adequately cleaned kitchen counter had crumbs over it . Couldn’t use the bbq because it wasn’t clean and nothing to clean it with. Kitchen not adequately equipped and for the price we paid a welcome pack of tea coffee and especially milk would have been a nice touch. Not enough towels and of poor quality we should at least of all had our own hand towel and a decent sized bath towel. No mirror in 2 of the bedrooms so when 4 women trying to get ready to go out not great. The outside space needs tidying up ground full of weeds rubbish bin full!!

Absolutely beautiful house to stay. Clean, comfortable and great location. Lovely neighbours also. Lovely outdoor space to bbq. Everything you need. Will definitely be back! Thankyou.

House is modern and in a very good location, within walking distance to the promenade.

Maintenance of the house could be much better, the BBQ was not usable as it was dirty and there was no gas left. A lot of weeds to the front and in the rear garden. Tap broken in kitchen.
